![]() Well here we go again. Our 29th season is under way. 29 years is incredible, congrats to all SWFFL'ers old and new. Once again I would like to thanks the Beans for hosting the Draft. As always everything was perfect on their end and I even remembered to bring the stickers this year. I think I will be entering the draft as we go from now on. It is easier and also gives some of you tech-savvy owners an updated list of available platers (assuming I did not fall behind). It is also worth mentioning the transaction wire is once again as busy as ever. The old web (http://swffl.50megs.com) has updated archives and historical records. I will also add some web-exclusive. Send any ideas to me and I will see what I can do. I added the "CBS Guru" draft analysis to my analysis and will compare both to the actual results at the end of the year. Key Matchups to watch this Week The reunited Money Takers will try to remain undefeated against the Roxborough Wranglers. The Bishops of Battle will try to keep their record perfect by beating the Dream Team. In a battle of the undefeated, the defending champion Young Gunz will take on the Jelly Beans. The Body Shop will try to keep their good start going against the GoodFellas. In a battle of teams looking for that first W, the Fightin' Irish will take on the Black & Blue Attack. Norm beat Spock last year again. They will renew their annual battle of wits next week. Spock's lines appear above, but they will not count in the 2016 Odds Maker battle. Once again, I did that analysis based on last year's points. It is 44 out of the 88 in picking Elite Teams. As always, this analysis is based on last year's performance in points per game. If you are depending on a rookie or a comeback player then ignore these results. If you aren't necessarily relying on either of these type players and you're on the bottom of the list, you might want to consider hitting the transaction wire hard. See the old website for details on what players made up your Best Lineup.

A Monday night double-header meant a lot of Monday Night Madness!! There were no games that was final on Sunday, however 3 were pretty much over. The Bishops of Battle, CJ Anderson, the VIKINGS D and a 24.5 point lead were way too much for the Roxborough Wranglers and Hunter Henry on Monday night. In fact Henry did not even bother mailing it in. The Bishops were led by Carr sa they started their 2017 campaign on the right foot. The Wranglers were led by Newton in the loss and nobody in the bench would have made a difference. The Jelly Beans, Rudolph and a 41.9 point easily held off the GoodFellas and Mark Ingram. The Beans were led by the LION double-bubble as they added to their record number of wins. The Fellas were led by Matty Ice in the loss, and their best line up would have been just short as well. The defending champion Young Gunz, Lutz and a 87.9 point leas proved to be to tall a task for the Black & Blue Attack, Cook, Thomas and the BRONCOS on Monday night. The Gunz were led by an MVP performance by Hunt on Thursday night and captured the first helmet of the year. There was no PATRIOT rust on the champion. The Attack was led by Mariota in the loss. That makes it 0-1 in the "no-Mike Brown" year. The Fightin' Irish, Rivers, Ginn and a 12.9 point lead failed to hold off the Body Shop, Gordon, Allen and Diggs on Monday night. Rodgers and Diggs led the Shop to a great start to 2017. Rivers and Nelson led the Irish in the opening day bump in the road. The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the Money Takers and the Dream Team. Call it commissioner privilege if you want, but it was the closest game. The Dream Team thanks to Big Ben and Hill on Thursday built up a 17 point lead going into Monday night with Sanders in the nightcap. The Takers were led by Brown on Sunday and still had Thielin in the early Monday game. Needless to say I was feeling confident and then Bradford just played pepper with Thielin all night long. Thankfully Thielen failed to score a TD (in fact no Taker found the end zone). So all the Dream Team need was a 7.8 out of Sanders in the late game. Sanders dropped a TD that would have sent the Commissioner to bed early in the first half. He also fell out of bounds with another missed TD in the last serios BRONCOS drive. The Broncos were up big time and there was no chance that they would toss the ball much. But an interception and a fumble got the Chargers within a long FG attempt at the end of regulation to tie the game. Surely, Sander would notch the 2.2 points needed in OT. The "Ice" the kicker TO by the Broncos, Iced the victory for the Takers and ended a very long night at the Commissioner's HQ. CHATTERBOX:(Get Quotes in by Monday Night)
