![]() Week 6 still finds one team without a win. There is still a trio tied at 5-1. The good news for us "have nots", 2 teams have pulled within a fame of that last Money Spot. The waiver wire calmed down but there is a week 6 transaction that just may end the season for all but one team. In volume for quality trades, I like to be on the quality side every time and this trade is top quality for volume (good) but bot first round good. The old website (http://swffl.50megs.com) has updated archives and historical records. I will also add some web-exclusive. Send any ideas to me and I will see what I can do. I added the "CBS Guru" draft analysis to my analysis, and will compare both to the results at the end of the year. Key Matchups to watch this Week In a family affair that is a battle for last place, the Good Fellas will take on the Dream Team. The Body Shop will try to keep up with the trio on top by beating the Bishops of Battle. The Roxborough Wranglers will try to climb over that Money Line by beating the Jelly Beans. The Black & Blue Attack will try to keep their top slot by beating the Fightin' Irish. In the only battle of Money Teams, the Young Gunz will take on the Money Takers. Spock was 5 of 5 making him 13/20 (65%) for the year. He retains top billing. Norm was 1 of 5 making 7/20 (35%) for the year. Hs Lines (my estimates) appear below: DT -6 GF (268) FI -2 BB (254)BI -1 BS (256) MT -1 YG (257) JB -1 RW (253) The Monday Night matchup produced 4 games with some Monday Night Madness, and only 1 game was decided on Sunday night. The Young Gunz stayed at the top of the standings by beating the Jelly Beans. The Gunz were led by Brees and Miller as they pushed the pace for the rest of the league. The Beans were led by Luck, Julio and Cooks in the loss. Despite the relative closeness of the game, the Beans did not have enough help on the bench that would have ended the Gunz ride at the top. The Black & Blue Attack and a 27.1 pt. lead were too much for the Good Fellas and Cantanzaro on Monday night. The Attack was led by Manning as they kept pace with the one loss gang. The Fellas were led by Taylor in the loss that leaves them still with one win (and yes I know that is one more than me). The Fellas also did not have enough bullets on the bench to make a difference in the final result. The Bishops of Battle, Palmer and a 28.8 pt. lead were too much for the Fightin' Irish and Floyd on Monday night. The Bishops were led by McCoy, Beckham and Cooper as they scored their first helmet of the year. The Irish were led by "Brady to Gronk" in the loss. I have a feeling this will lead to wins more often then losses. Curiously, and this probably won't happen often, but the Irish would have won if they had trotted out the wishbone set instead of the run and shoot. |
Ok - I really could not deny the Taker-Shop game the GOW (even without the pre-fame bickering). The Dream Team went into a Monday with Larry Fitz and a 28.1 point lead against the Roxborough Wranglers, David Johnson and Brandon Marshall. The was by no means a sure thing but I was feeling pretty good for the first time all season. That did not last long as on the first Cardinal drive, David Johnson ripped of a 58 yd. run and immediately wiped out most of that 28 pt. lead. He went on to score twice more and Marshall became icing on the cake. The Wranglers were led by Johnsons in the win and pulled up to .500. The Dream Team failed to start a 20 point starter, out up the lowest score for the week and reached that 0-6 mark. Can history repeat itself? The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the Body Shop and the Money Takers. After basically going at each other all week on the bulletin board they finally got to square off in the virtual gridiron. The Takers carried a 4.7 pt. lead into Monday night against the Shop and the CARDINALs. Surely that was not enough for the first-drafted (way too early) CARDINALs. The Shop would have 5 points in the bag before the first half and head to bed early after all the Shop drafted the CARDINALS as the best ST in the league). The Shop was still losing by 2.7 in the 4th quarter. Coach Casey pulled a rent-a-player move of his on and dialed up Todd Bowles (Todd is a closet Flyers fan) and lobbied for Geno Smith to enter the game. On the last Jet drive of the game Geno got sacked and almost fumbled. Casey destroys his Ipad. TheN Geno throws the INT later on in that drive. The JETS never see the ball again and the Shop wins by 0.3 points (at least they are ahead by that today). CHATTERBOX:(Get Quotes in by Monday Night)
