![]() Week 2 finds 3 undefeated teams and 3 winless teams. It will be interesting to see how long the 0's remain in the standings. I think the worst record has been 3-14 (a couple of teams) and the best record has been 15-2 (2011 Beans). The waiver wire was a bit slower this week, but we are pretty much at the same point we were last year, and I think that was a record year for transactions. The old website (http://swffl.50megs.com) has updated archives and historical records. I will also add some web-exclusive. Send any ideas to me and I will see what I can do. I added the "CBS Guru" draft analysis to my analysis and will compare both to the actual results at the year end. Key Matchups to watch this Week In a family affair the Good Fellas will be looking for that first "W" against the Jelly Beans. The Bishops of Battle will try to remain undefeated this week against the winless Roxborough Wranglers. In a battle of .500 teams, the Money Takers will take on the Fightin Irish. The Dream Team will try to find the win column for the first time against the Body Shop. In the only game between undefeated teams, the Young Gunz will meet the Black & Blue Attack. Norm beat Spock last year so he gets top billing and his lines (my estimates) are above. Spock's Locks appear below: JB -27 GF (243) BS -7 DT (255)BI -30 RW (250) BB -2 YG (268) FI -16 MT (252) The Monday Night matchup did not draw a lot of fantasy attention as 3 games were decided on Sunday. But there was still some Monday Night madness, especially in the Game of the Week (Game of the Century as suggested by the Shop front office). The Black & Blue Attack climbed to the top of the standings and remains undefeated as they handed the Roxborough Wranglers their second loss. The Attack was led to their first helmet by DeAngelo, Hopkins and Olsen. The Wranglers were led by Forte in the loss and even their best lineup would have still left them still searching for that first "W". The Body Shop eked out their first win against the 1-0 Fightin' Irish. In may a week this would have been the "Game of the Week" even without any Monday Night Madness, but not this week. No, this week GOW honors were not in doubt. The Shop was led by T. Benjamin and the CARDINALS (drafted too early??). The Irish were led by K. Benjamin and Landry in the loss. When you lose by less than 5 points, you usually will find difference makers on the bench. This was true for the Irish as a Ryan, Coates or Diggs start would have kept the Irish undefeated. |
In the final game decided on Sunday, the Young Gunz remained undefeated against their Draft Day trading partners the Dream Team. The Gunz were led by Big Ben, Decker and the BRONCOS. The Dream Team (hoping to survive the Suspension Stretch) are now faced with AD (all day) knee tweak stretch. Actually AD was not really lighting up the scoreboard anyway. The Dream Team was led by Rodgers and Fitzgerald as they still search for that first "W". A Jones and Matthews start would have led to that first "W". The Money Takers, Agholar and a 43.4 point lead proved to be too much for the Good Fellas, Jeffrey, J. Matthews and the EAGLES on Monday night. The Takers climbed to .500 on the shoulders of Cam and Walker. It seems Superman has returned for another year and notched the weekly MVP. The Fellas failed to start a 20 point performer. In fact, starting their only 20 point player (Taylor) would have given the Fellas the "W" and Takers places in the standings with the Takers. The "Game of the Week" (maybe century) honors go to the contest between the Bishops of Battle and the Jelly Beans. The Bishops carried a 13.6 point lead into Monday night against the Beans and Wentz. Based on averages etc., I'd rather be in the Beans position every day of the week and twice on Monday. However,(and I had to search for play by play data to get this), with 36 seconds left in the 3rd quarter Wentz throws TD and puts Beans in the lead by .1 (if my calculations are correct). Next drive all runs (1 inc. pass) and EAGLES TD. Next drive one completed pass for -1 yards (the negatives begin although this one do not affect score). Last drive with 2:13 left Wentz to Matthews for 7 yards (+0.2 pts) Beans up by .3. Wentz the kneels for -2 (.1 pt lead), -3 (Bishops by .2) and -1 (Bishops win by .3) What a finish!! Sorry to put you through reliving that Beans, but that had to be retold. The Bishops were led by Palmer and Gano. The Beans were led by Jones and Wallace. Among others, a Luck start would have kept the Beans undefeated and totally ruined this photo finish. CHATTERBOX:(Get Quotes in by Monday Night)
