![]() With 2 weeks left to go only one team has been eliminated from the Money. Without looking at scheduling issues (team a needs team b and c to lose out but team b and c face each other in week 17), but taking points into account, 5 teams only 2 (maybe 3) are alive for the championship. Ok, this week most of the games are on Saturday so the lineup deadline is moved to Saturday at 1. So you should get those lineups in early on Christmas Eve. May you all have a Merry Christmas and enjoy some family time. The old website (http://swffl.50megs.com) has updated archives and historical records. I will also add some web-exclusive. Send any ideas to me and I will see what I can do. I added the "CBS Guru" draft analysis to my analysis, and will compare both to the results at the end of the year. Key Matchups to watch this Week In a family affair the Good Fellas will try to keep their Money hopes alive by sweeping the Dream Team. In what could be a battle for the last Money Spot, the Body Shop will try to sweep the Bishops of Battle. The Jelly Beans will try to keep their slim Championship hopes alive by sweeping the Roxborough Wranglers. The Black & Blue Attack will try to keep their Championship hopes alive by sweeping the Fightin' Irish. The Young Gunz will try to wrap up (1 game lead and points with 1 game to go) the Championship by sweeping the Money Takers. Spock was 3 for 5 making him 31/65 (48%) for the year. He regains top billing. Norm was 1 for 5 making him 35/60 (54%). His lines (My estimates) appear below: DT -9 GF (269) FI -1 BB (257)BI -1 BS (253) MT -2 YG (254) JB -2 RW (256) The Monday Night match-up produced 4 games with some Monday Night Madness, the other game was decided on Sunday night. The Black & Blue Attack kept pace with the Young Gunz by completing the season sweep of the Good Fellas. Neither team had a 20 point scorer in their lineup as the game was a relatively low scoring affair. Bothe trams had some unused ammo on the bench, but the Good Fellas best lineup would have still fallen short. Because of the huge point differential, the Attack basically has to win out and hope the young Gunz loose out. This is certainly not impossible but hardly very likely. The Bishops of Battle, Reed and a 53.8 pt. lead proved too much for the Fighitn' Irish, Stewart and the PANTHERS on Monday night. The Bishops were led by Palmer, Powell and Tate as they scored the season sweep of the Irish. Only Landry scored more than 20 for Irish in the loss. A Wilson and West start would have given the Irish a season split. The results left the Bishops in a 3 way tie for 3rd and the Fellas on the outside looking in (and will probably need some help to get in again). |
The Roxborough Wranglers and a 6.6 point lead were just too much for the Dream Team and D-Jax on Monday Night. The Wranglers were led by Matty Ice and an MVP performance by Freeman in the win that kept their Money hopes slightly alive and also scored them another weekly helmet. The Dream Team failed to field a 20 point starter and even their best lineup would have fallen short. It seems that second half surge has run out of steam. The Body Shop, Crowder and a 23.7 pt. lead were just barely too much for the Takers and Cam on Monday night. The Shop was led by Elliot and Hill in the win that keeps them in that 3-way tie for 3rd. The Takers were led by Newton in the loss that has all but eliminated them. The Takers had some options on the bench that could have made a difference, but they still would have had long odds to get back in the Money. The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the Young Gunz and the Jelly Beans. It is always nice (and it has happened twice) to have the 1st and 2nd place teams meet in the final weeks of the season. The Gunz carried a 22.3 pt. lead into Monday night against the Beans and R-Kelly. Kelly put a scare in to the Gunz but fell short in the end. The Gunz were led by Kaepernick (wasn't he banned or something), Johnson and Shady as they close in on their 3rd championship (all in the last 5 years). The Beans were led by Flacco in the loss that pretty much eliminates them from repeating. They would need to win out, hope the Young Gunz loose out, make up about 100 points on the Gunz and also have the Black & Blue Attack lose at least one. CHATTERBOX:(Get Quotes in by Monday Night)
