![]() This week was pretty much a split with 3 teams beating teams below them in the standings and 2 teams beating teams above them in the standings. We have until Sunday at 1:00 to still make trades. This season has to have been the biggest trading season of all time, in large part due the wheeling and dealing of Trader Brett. I can't complain he is getting results. . . . shh . . The Dream Team is silently sneaking up on you all (yeah we had a little hiccup this week). The old website (http://swffl.50megs.com) has updated archives and historical records. I will also add some web-exclusive. Send any ideas to me and I will see what I can do. I added the "CBS Guru" draft analysis to my analysis, and will compare both to the results at the end of the year. Key Matchups to watch this Week The Good Fellas will try to keep their very slim hold on to their money spot by sweeping the Fightin' Irish. The Black & Blue attack will try to keep that 6th Championship in play by sweeping the Bishops of Battle. The Money Takers will try to stay within earshot of a Money spot by sweeping the Dream Team. In a battle of teams tied for 3rdthe Body Shop will try to climb back into the Money by sweeping the Jelly Beans The Young Gunz will have their weekly team meet and greet and then will proceed to the field where they will try to sweep the Roxborough Wranglers after finally getting off the see-saw ride with the Attack. Spock was 3 for 5 making him 28/55 (51%) for the year. He regains top billing. Norm was 2 of 5 making 29/55 (53%) for the year. His Lines (my estimates) appear below: FI -1 GF (252) JB -1 BS (257)BI -2 BB (256) RW -2 YG (258) DT -9 MT (269) The Monday Night match-up produced 4 games with some Monday Night Madness, the other game was decided on Sunday night. The Body Shop remained just below the Money Line by sweeping the Black & Blue Attack who had been tied for first. The Shop was led by Gostkowski in the win (there were not a lot of points in this game). The Black & Blue Attack failed to start a 10 point starter and barely cleared the 80 pt. barrier. Given the Attack's history of Championships, I am sure they are quite aware this is not the performance you want when you are chasing the trophy. The Attack's best lineup (and it would have taken their absolute best lineup) would have kept tem tied with the Gunz for the top spot. The Young Gunz and a 90.6 pt. lead was way too much for the Figtin' Irish and Marshall on Monday night. The Gunz traveling All Stars were led by Big Ben, David Johnson, Shady and Howard as they scored yea another helmet, put a game (and points) between them and the rest of the league and completed the season sweep of the Irish. Only Brate managed to clear 20 pts. For the Irish as they played their role of Washington Generals to the Gunz Globetrotter. Between the 2 games, the Gunz outscored the Irish by a whopping 162.8 points. That has to be a record. |
The Good Fellas and a 31.1 pt. lead were too much for the Roxborough Wranglers and Forte on Monday night. Despite the "W" the Fellas dropped a spot in the standings due to a drop in total points. They cannot blame Gordon or Nelson for the deficit. The Wranglers were led by Crabtree and Kelce in the loss. Blunt and Freeman would have had the Wranglers halting their skid which has reached 4 games in a row now. The Jelly Beans completed the season sweep of the Dream Team as Luck and Hilton easily overcame a 31.7 pt. lead on Monday night. In fact they only needed the first half to do it. At least, I got to turn off that dog of a game early. It was almost as hard to watch as that Eagles fiasco. The Beans were led by Luck, Murray, Hilton and Ertz as they climbed into 3rd place. The Dream Team was led by Rodgers and Bell in the loss that snapped their 4 game winning streak and there was very little help on their bench. The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the Bishops of Battle and the Money Takers. The Bishops and 16.1 pt. lead barely held off the Takers and Moncrief on Monday Night. The Bishops were led by Beckham and Tate as they leap-frogged the Takers in the standings. The Takers failed to start a 20 point starter and had several difference makers on the bench. A Rivers start was the easiest path, but not the only one, to staying in a tie for 3rd place. CHATTERBOX:(Get Quotes in by Monday Night)
