Well here we go again. Our 28th season is under way. 27 years is incredible, congrats to all SWFFL'ers old and new. Once again I would like to thanks the Beans for hosting the Draft. As always everything was perfect on their end and I even remembered to bring the stickers this year. I think I will be entering the draft as we go from now on. It is easier and also gives some of you tech-savvy owners an updated list of available platers (assuming I did not fall behind). It is also worth mentioning the transaction wire is once again as busy as ever.

The old web (http://swffl.50megs.com) has updated archives and historical records. I will also add some web-exclusive. Send any ideas to me and I will see what I can do. I added the "CBS Guru" draft analysis to my analysis and will compare both to the actual results at the end of the year.

Key Matchups to watch this Week

In a battle of teams searching for that first "W", the Good Fellas will meet the Money Takers on the fantasy gridiron. The defending champion Jelly Beans will try to continue their winning ways against the Bishops of Battle. The Black & Blue Attack will try to remain undefeated against the Roxborough Wranglers. The Fightin' Irish will also try to keep the loss column clean against the Body Shop. In a battle of draft slot swappers, the Young Gunz will take on the Dream Team.

Norm beat Spock last year. They will renew their annual battle of wits next week. Spock's lines appear above, but they will not count in the 2016 Odds Maker battle.

Once again, I did that analysis based on last year's points. It is 41 out of the 84 in picking Elite Teams. As always, this analysis is based on last year's performance in points per game. If you are depending on a rookie or a comeback player then ignore these results. If you aren't necessarily relying on either of these type players and you're on the bottom of the list, you might want to consider hitting the transaction wire hard. See the old website for details on what players made up your Best Lineup based on 2015 points.

A Monday night double-header meant a lot of Monday Night Madness!! There was only one game that was final on Sunday.

The Fightin' Irish were led by an MVP performance by Drew Brees as the defeated the Roxborough Wranglers. David Johnson was the only Wrangler to reach the 20 pt. barrier. If Blount and Forte had been in the Wrangler lineup instead of Marshall and Freeman, the standings would look a bit different. Then again benching 2 of your top 3 picks is rarely going to be a wise move. However if it is, a team will be in for a rough season.

The Bishops of Battle carried a 45.7 point lead into Monday night against the Good Fellas and the Antonio Brown. Now Antonio Brown is certainly one of the best fantasy WRs in the NFL, but even he cannot be expected to put up that number. The Bishops were led by Baldwin and Copper in the victory. Ware joined Brown in leading the Fellas. A Dalton start over Tyler would have had the Fellas living up to all those post-draft rankings.

The Jelly Beans, STEELERS and 66.5 point lead proved to be way too much for the Money Takers, Gurley and Austin on Monday night. The defending champion Beans were led by Luck and Cooks as they started where they left off last year and notched their first 2016 helmet. The Takers were led by Newton and the Purple People Eaters (are they back). Even the best Taker lineup would have fell short.

The Young Gunz, Big Ben and a 30 pt. lead were too much for the Body Shop and Reed on Monday night. The Gunz were led by Ben, Green and Bailey as they settled into second place. The Shop was led by Stafford in the loss.

The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the Black & Blue Attack and the Dream Team. Call it commissioner privilege if you want, but during the early game these 2 teams swapped the lead a few times before DeAngelo put the final nail in the Dream Team coffin. The Attack, DeAngelo and 2.3 pt. lead held off the Dream Team, D-Jax and the RAMS. Beside DeAngelo, the Attack was led to victory by Carr and Evans. The Dream Team was led by Rodgers, Snead and Larry Fitz in the loss. A Sanu and Matthews start would have had led to A Dream Team victory. In truth, waiting too long to lock up that Bell handcuff really cost the Dream Team the victory in more ways than one. A week one Win and DeAngelo, are we even yet, Mike? Eddie?
