![]() Week 9 finds someone cracking the Roxborough Wranglers code. I don't understand, it had something to do with the Loop Basketball League. The Commissioners off will continue to investigate. Meanwhile the loss helped the rest of the league get close and at this point (ignoring total points), all but 1 team is within 2 games of first place. Let the second half continue. Don't forget to keep an eye on the old web site (http://swffl.50megs.com). It has updated archives and historical records. I will also add some web-exclusive materials there, like the complete 2015 Draft analysis, and the updated draft slot analysis. Send me ideas and I will see what I can do. Key Matchups to watch this Week The Good Fellas will try to complete the season sweep of the Bishops of Battle. In a battle of Money Teams, the Jelly Beans will try to sweep the Young Gunz. In a battle of teams that spent the early weeks in the Money, but have are 1-7 recently, the Dream Team will try to avenge their early season loss to the Body Shop. In a battle at the very top of the standings, the Wranglers will try to get the #1 team out there and complete the sweep of the Black & Blue Attack. The Fightin' Irish will try to fight their way back into contention by avenging their Week 1 loss to the Money Takers. Norm was 3/5 last week making him 2/35 (63%) on the year. He retains top billing this week. Spock was 3/5 last week making him 15/35 (43%) on the year. His Locks appear below: BI -15 GF (241) RW -9 BB (259)JB -1 YG (251) MT -2 FI (250) BS -2 DT (265) Four games had some Monday Night Madness. The Jelly Beans won their 3rd in the last 4 against the Dream Team and climbed into a Money Spot. The Beans were led by McCoy, Landry, Crabtree and Eifert in the win. The Dream Team squandered very good performances by Rodgers and Watkins. Commissioner Whine Alert!!! Ok, it is bad enough that we lost Bell about a half after acquiring him, but this week we picked up a Kicker who winds up holding for extra points and field goals. We don't get any points for holding Nick. It mattered little, even a Legatron type performance wouldn't have kept us from the 4th loss in a row. |
The Bishops of Battle inserted a little hitch into the Roxborough Wranglers gallop to the Championship. The Bishops built up a 36 point lead going into Monday night against the Wranglers and Langford, due mainly to the performances by Bortles and Cooks. The Wranglers did get a nice performance out of Langford, but not enough to keep their winning streak going. The Money Takers and a 23.1 point lead proved to be too much for the Body Shop and Rivers on Monday night. The Takers were staked to that lead by Mariota and Murray on Sunday. Only Hurns managed to break the 20 point barrier for the Body Shop. A Carr start would have kept the Shop in the Money. In a close second for Game of the Week, the Good Fellas, Gordon, Lambo and a 10.1 point lead barely out lasted the Fightin' Irish and Woodhead on Monday night. The Fellas were led by Brees, Brown and Evans as they climbed back into contention with the rest of the pack at 2 games out of first. The Irish were led by Woodhead, Peyton and Julio in what might be considered a moral victory due to the 149.8 points in the loss. A Starks start could have turned that moral victory into an actual victory, and frankly at this point the Irish cannot afford anything lees than real victories. The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the Black & Blue Attack and the Young Gunz. The Attack, Gates and a 32.9 point lead were just enough (and I mean by less than a point) top hold off The Gunz, Jeffrey and Bennett on Monday night. The Attack was led by Big Ben, Cooper, Cobb, Bryant and Brown in the victory. The Gunz were led by Brady, Peterson (he scored more than Bell this week), Jeffrey and Sanders (he outscored Jones too) in what could be called a moral victory (see Fellas and Irish recap for more on that subject). As usual, when a team loses by less than a point, there is usually help on the Bench. BTW, how do you not play DeAngelo Williams over Ivory. Any way . . . wait a minute, this just in from the NFL, the following stat correction was made for . . . Only kidding Mike. CHATTERBOX:(Get Quotes in by Monday Night)
