![]() Week 8 finds the Roxborough Wrangler moving right along and the only ones close are the Young Gunz and trader Brett (and Jeff too). Now I must admit I was hesitant to make that trade, but I know my partner liked Bell and I heard Peterson has a somewhat difficult schedule for the rest of the year. So I agreed, what I want to know is, is there a return Policy or some kind of warranty on these Young Gun trades? Don't worry Brett and Jeff, I am only kidding. It could have just as easily AD (All Day) Peterson that wound up on the IR. Apparently, there were a lot of injuries this week. I stopped watching after Bell was carted off. Reminder: The Week 9 schedule does not repeat. Don't forget to keep an eye on the old web site (http://swffl.50megs.com). It has updated archives and historical records. I will also add some web-exclusive materials there, like the complete 2015 Draft analysis, and the updated draft slot analysis. Send me ideas and I will see what I can do. Key Matchups to watch this Week The Good Fellas and the Fightin' Irish will meet in a battle to stay out of the basement. The Roxborough Wranglers will try to add the Bishops of Battle to their list of victims this year. In the only battle of Money Teams, The Young Gunz (with a healthy Peterson) take on the Black & Blue Attack. In a family affair between .500 teams, the Jelly Beans will take on a Bell-less Dream Team. In a battle of grizzled old veterans at .500, the Money Takers will take on the Body Shop. Norm was 4/5 last week making him 19/30 (63%) on the year. He regains top billing this week. Spock was 1/5 last week making him 13/30 (43%) on the year. His Locks appear below: FI -1 GF (237) JB -4 DT (250)RW -9 BI (251) BS -7 MT (265) BB -2 YG (250) Two games had some Monday Night Madness. The other three were over on Sunday. The Young Gunz defeated the Body Shop and took over sole possession of second place and scored their first 2015 helmet. The Gunz were led by Brady, Edelman, Jeffrey and Tucker in the win (no Peterson or Sanders?).The Shop in the loss was led by Rivers and Gronk in the loss. A CJ and Snead start would have had the Shop in 2nd place instead of the Gunz. I believe this is the 5th helmet game in a row the Shop has been in (unfortunately for the Shop 3 have been losses). OK, Gunz, I may still be a bit bitter about the results of the trade but it is not like I am hoping Peterson breaks his leg in the first quarter next week (OK maybe I am, Sorry Bubba). |
The Jelly Beans, due largely to Matt Ryan, put up a 'W' against the Black and Blue Attack. The Attack failed to start a 20 point player. In fact they had none on the bench either. The Roxborough Wranglers continued their race to the trophy by beating up on the Dream Team. The Wranglers were lead by Palmer in the victory. Actually the Dream Team looked like, due to nice performance by Gurley, Austin and Larry Fitz, they could survive the Bell injury with a win going into Sunday night, but then the BRONCOS turned the PACKERS into the Bad News Bears of Football, and that ended the game. The Dream Team season ended several hours earlier on a Cincinnati sideline. The Figtin' Irish, Viantieri, the PANTHERS and a 36 point lead proved to be too much for the Bishops of Battle, Luck, Hilton and Olsen on Monday night. The Irish were led by Julio and Demaryius as they start their climb out of the basement. The Bishops were led by Luck and Cooks in the loss. A Diggs start would have had the Bishops in a tie for 2nd place. The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the Good Fellas and the Money Takers. The Fellas and Newton barely (and I mean it took almost 5 quarters) for the Fellas to take the lead. The Fellas were led by Newton, Floyd and Green in the 1.4 point victory. Of course they could have had smooth sailing if they started that 60+ point performance by Brees. The Takers were led by Lewis, Hopkins and an MVP performance by Beckham in the loss. In a game this close, there is invariably a player on the bench that would have made the difference and this game was no different. CHATTERBOX:(Get Quotes in by Monday Night)
