SPOCK'S LOCKS FORMAT - Favorite w/Spread on top - Underdog w/Under-Over in parenthesis

OK - last week we had a 5 way tie for first and 6 teams still alive for a championship. This week (considering that the Good Fellas play the Money Takers this week) only one Money spot is up in the air. All 3 10-6 teams will be in the money. One of the 9-7 teams will be in the money. All other teams are officially eliminated. Fortunately this is week 17 and we all have a shot at the Golden Helmet (well a few years ago it was a golden helmet, it still might be a silver helmet).

Don't forget to keep an eye on the old web site (http://swffl.50megs.com). It has updated archives and historical records. I will also add some web-exclusive materials there, like the complete 2015 Draft analysis, and the updated draft slot analysis. Send me ideas and I will see what I can do.

Key Matchups to watch this Week

In a battle for the last Money Spot, the Good Fellas will try to sweep the Money Takers. In a battle more about pride than anything else, the Young Gunz will try to sweep the Body Shop. The Jelly Beans will try to grab the trophy by sweeping the defending Champion Black & Blue Attack. The Roxborough Wranglers spent the most time in the penthouse this year, and they will try to get back in there by sweeping the Dream Team. The Bishops of Battle(because of their point total) may need a sweep of the Fightin' Irish and some help but they do have a shot.

Spock was 3 of 5 last week making him 34/70 (49%) on the year. He regains top billing this week. Norm was 2 of 5 last week making him 38/70 (54%) on the year. His Lines (My Estimates) appear below:

GF -1 MT (253)     DT -8 RW (266)
YG -2 BS (248)     YG -5 FI (245)
JB -1 BB (251)

Three games had some Monday Night Madness to some degree. The other two were over on Sunday.

The Jelly Beans avenged their early season loss to the Body Shop and snagged their 3rd helmet of the year due largely to the efforts of Stafford, D. Johnson, Marshall and Robinson. The win keeps them at the top of the standings. If they win and put up a decent number of points they will grab their third SWFFL Championship. The Shop was led by Hurns (so when did the Jaguars become the "Greatest Show on Turf"). The Shop had some help on the bench, but not enough to make the difference.

The Roxborough Wranglers kept their title hopes alive and ended the Good Fellas Championship hopes (for all practical purposes) by sweeping the Fellas. The Wranglers and a 33.5 point lead proved to be too much for AJ Green on Monday night. The Wranglers were led by Palmer and Hightower as they need a win and a Bean Loss (or a Bean win and 40+ point swing). Technically The Bishops could catch them but they would need a 87 point swing. The Fellas need a win to stay in the Money and technically they could win the Championship if the 3 9-7 teams lose and they make up a 50 points against the Beans and 20 against the Wranglers. A Brees start over Newton would have virtually switched the outlook of both teams a la Freaky Friday.

The Dream Team finally won again. The streak is over, not that it matters a whole lot now. The Dream Team avenged their early season loss to the Black & Blue Attack with only Ertz clearing the 20 point level. Only DeAngelo cleared 20 points for the Black & Blue Attack who had their Money Line goals ended by the loss and the week 17 match-up of the 2 teams that are a dame ahead of them (they both can't loose). The Attack's best lineup would have come up short.

The Fightin' Irish, Thomas and a 16.3 point lead just barely held off the Young Gunz, Sanders and McManus on Monday night. This was definitely a Game of the Week candidate, but the lack of Money Spot involvement put it in the RedZone "we are just going to this game when all the others are at half-time" category. The Irish were led by Julio and Randle as they have now won 4 in a row which is 2 more than they won in the first 12 weeks. The Gunz were led by Gore (wonder if he would have seen the ball in Chip's offense). A garcon or Matthews start would have snapped the Irish winning streak.

The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the Bishops of Battle and the Money Takers. This game had no Monday night madness, but it was a very close game by teams that were tied for first place. The Bishops were led by Cooks, Reed and an MVP performance by Bortles (another JAGUARnaut). The Takers were led by Hopkins, Walsh and the SEAHWAK double-bubble (when did Baldwin turn into Rice and Wilson into Montana - Oh yeah when Beast Mode got hurt). A McKinnon start would have had the Takers in the Championship hunt instead of the Bishops.
