![]() Week 3 finds only 1 undefeated team and only 1 team still searching for the first "W" of the year. The rest of the league is at 2-1 or 1-2. The transaction wires have been operating at an incredible pace. I think there may have been whole years that did not see this many transactions. Granted the, the Young Gunz fore sale has a little to do with this, but even if you discount those trades, there is still a whole lot of activity. Don't forget to keep an eye on the old web site (http://swffl.50megs.com). It has updated archives and historical records. I will also add some web-exclusive materials there, like the complete 2013 Draft analysis, as I develop them. Anybody with ideas, send them to me and I will see what I can do. Key Matchups to watch this Week In a family battle, the jelly Beans and Good Fellas will not try to leap over the Money line. The Black & Blue will try to stay away from the .500 line by beating the Dream Team. The Body Shop will try to remain undefeated (and in first place) against the formerly in first place Bishops of Battle. The Money Takers will try to hold on to that final Money Spot by defeating the Roxborough Wranglers. The Defending Champion Young Gunz will try to get the 3-peat plan back on track against the Fightin' Irish. Norm was 4/5 (80%) in the first week of the annual Battle of the Oddsmakers. His Lines (estimated by me) appear above. Spock was 2/5 (40%). His Locks appear below: GF -1 JB (261) MT -16 RW (236)BB -12 DT (284) FI -19 YG (235) BS -1 BI (249) Two games had a little Monday Night Madness. The other 3 were over on Sunday. The Black & Blue Attack put up big numbers on Sunday. They won their contest against the Jelly Beans and still had Bennett on Monday Night to help them wrap up the Helmet. The Attack was led by Luck, Davis, Brown and Bennett. The Beans were led by Ryan, Lynch and Crabtree in the loss. The Beans had some help on the bench but not enough to make a difference. Do the Beans have some kind of "We won't play a former EAGLE if we are watching them live at the Linc" rule. Or maybe they just think Cousins would help D-Jax get in the end zone for his anti-Eagle antics. The Dream Team finally notched a "W" against the Fightin' Irish. Of course it took a garbage-time TD by a rookie WR in the 4th quarter of Sunday night. The Dream Team was led by Bush, Benjamin in their first win. The Irish were led by Rivers and Julio Jones. A Rainey or Sanu would have kept the Irish abiove .500 and the Dream Team winless. |
The Roxborough Wranglers became the latest team to take advantage of the two-time defending Champion. The Wranglers did it on the field (many other teams are doing on the transaction table). The Wranglers were led by Brees, Cruz, Garcon, and Maclan. In the loss, the Gunz were led by Cousins and Bryant in the loss. A Miller, Stacy or Sanders start would have given the Gunz their first "W" of the season. The Money Takers, Jeffrey and the BEARS overcame the Bishops of Battle, Marshall and a 4.7 point lead. The Takers were led by Manning as they climbed over the .500 mark and the Money Line. The Bishops didn't mange a 20 point players as they dropped out of first place. The Bishops left some points on the bench but not enough that it would have made a difference. The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the Body Shop and the Good Fellas. The Shop and Forte barely overcame a 7 point lead by the Fellas on Monday Night. The Shop was led by Murray as they now have won all 3 games by a total of 18.4 points. The Good Fellas were led by Foles and Olsen in the loss. A Bell, Floyd and Matthews start would have had the Fellas in the Money and the Shop in the loss column for the first time. The Shop has been in the Game of the Week all 3 weeks. The good news is they have been on the winning side each time. The bad news is that Mr. Met has been moved to intensive care for Very High Anxiety. How much longer can the Shops nerves hold out. CHATTERBOX:(Get Quotes in by Monday Night)
