![]() Week 16 finds it all over except the last dance. The top 4 teams will be playing for the difference between 1st and 2nd, 2nd and 3rd . . . , etc. The rest of us (if the top 4 stay out of it) will be vying for that small week 17 prize. Now you know I've been venting (aka whining) about the scheduling gods treatment of the Dream Team. Since these are late, I had a chance to read the Sportsline recap of my game and this they wrote not me: "Coaches Butch Smalley and Norman Staley must be wondering what they did wrong. After losing despite a good score last week, their team lost with the 4th highest point total this week." At any rate, if the Beans score 78 points this week the Dream Team will set a record for points allowed. If the Attack scores 40 points they will break their own record for most points scored (set last year). Well it should be an interesting year end. Don't forget to keep an eye on the old web site (http://swffl.50megs.com). It has updated archives and historical records. I will also add some web-exclusive materials there, like the complete 2014 Draft analysis, as I develop them. Anybody with ideas, send them to me and I will see what I can do. Key Matchups to watch this Week The Money Takers will try to sweep the Good Fellas in battle for 3rd or maybe 2nd. In a family affair, the Dream Team will try to sweep the Jelly Beans. The Body Shop will try to avenge an early season loss to the Roxborough Wranglers in a game that could land them anywhere from third to first. The Fightin' Irish will try to sweep the Bishops of Battle and perhaps maybe (with a huge point outburst) escape the basement. The Black and Blue Attack will try to notch their 5th Championship by sweeping the 2-time defending Champion Young Gunz. Spock was 2/5 last week making him 44/70 (63%) on the year. He retains top billing. Norm was 2/5 last week making him 34/70 (49%) on the year. His lines (my estimates) appear below: GF -1 GF (263) FI -2 BI (261)DT -9 JB (275) BB -1 YG (265) BS -2 RW (264) Three games were over on Sunday. The other three games had a little Monday Night Madness. The Body Shop completed the season sweep of the Jelly beans and kept their Championship hopes alive despite the revolving door that is their starting QB position. Back to RG3, really. The Shop was led by Cobb in the victory. The Beans failed to field a 20 point scorer and a Tannehill or 49ER start would have wrapped up the championship for the Black & Blue. |
The Fightin' Irish avenged their early season loss to the Roxborough Wranglers. The Irish were led by Rivers and Gore in the win. Lacy led the Wranglers in the loss. Although the Wranglers left ammo on the bench, it would not have mattered. The Young Gunz avenged their early season loss to the Dream Team and buried the Dream Team Money hopes until next season. The Ginz were led by Romo, Lynch Miller and Sanders in the win. The Dream Team was led by Smith in their 4th loss in a row. A Capernick, Mason and Bush start would have prolonged the agony for one more week. The Good Fellas clinched their money spot by sweeping the Bishops of Battle. The Fellas were led by Sanchez, McCoy and Nelson in the win. The win left the Fella with the ability to finish the season anywhere from 2nd to 4th. The Bishops of Battle failed to field a 20 point scorer in the loss. The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the Money Takers and the Black and Blue Attack. This was the only game between Money teams. Also there was some Moday night madness. The Money Takers and Manning carried a 103.1 point lead into Monday night against the Attack and Hill, Anderson, Green and Thomas. The Takers, led by Manning, Beckham and Gates, scored their 2nd helmet in a row and wrapped up a Money spot. The Attack was led by Anderson and Hill in the loss. The loss means that the Attack needs a week 17 win or Body Shop loss to wrap up that 5th title. CHATTERBOX:(Get Quotes in by Monday Night)
