![]() Week 14 finds the commissioner in a worse mood this week than last week. Apparently, I have decided that getting killed by a record breaking score is not as bad as losing in the last 4 minutes of Monday night football. Or maybe it is just an additive effect. On the lighter side, the trade deadline has passed so I was wondering why the Young Gunz is acquiring empty roster spots. They can't make any more of those block-buster 3 for 1 trades. And on an even lighter note, I'd like to congratulate the Jelly Beans on their new addition. Ronnie the 3rd is a third-generation Jelly Bean. I guess we have to start calling Uncle Ron, "Grandpa" Ron. Congratulations Ronnie and Shannon. Don't forget to keep an eye on the old web site (http://swffl.50megs.com). It has updated archives and historical records. I will also add some web-exclusive materials there, like the complete 2013 Draft analysis, as I develop them. Anybody with ideas, send them to me and I will see what I can do. Key Matchups to watch this Week The Good Fellas will try to keep a hold of their newly acquired Money Spot by sweeping the Roxborough Wranglers. The Black & Blue Attack will try and keep their Championship roll going by completing the sweep of the Fightin' Irish. The Dream Team will try to jump back in the Money at the expense of the Money Takers. The Bishops of Battle will try to keep their stretch run going by sweeping the Jelly Beans. The Body Shop will try to keep their Championship hopes alive sweeping the Young Gunz. Spock was 3/5 last week making him 38/60 (63%) on the year. He retains top billing. Norm was 1/5 last week making him 31/60 (52%) on the year. His lines (my estimates) appear below: RW -1 GF (259) JB -2 BI (258)FI -2 BB (262) YG -1 BS (261) DT -9 MT (274) Two games were over on Sunday. The other game had a little Monday Night Madness. The Good Fellas carried an 89.1 point lead and Jordy Nelson on Monday night against the Fightin' Irish. The Fellas had the game in hand, the only question was would they complete the sweep with a 100 point win. Nelson went off and the Fellas won by 126.7 points. The Fellas were led by Bell, Evans, Nelson and Olsen as they jumped above the Money Line. The Irish (scoring only 49 points) not only had no 20 point scorers, only their QB managed double digits. There was some ammo on the Irish bench but not nearly enough to make a difference. The Body Shop had Cobb and the PACKERS in their back pocket on Monday night, but on Sunday they had secured the season sweep of the Money Takers and had taken a strong grip on second place with only a game a truckload of points away from a Championship. The Shop was led by Wilson. Forte and Murray. The Takers were led by Beckham (not the soccer player) as they managed to keep their Money spot. A Harvin and Jackson start keeps them in 2nd place. |
The Black & Blue Attack, Julio and a 90 point lead were way too much for the Roxborough Wranglers and Lacey on Monday night. The Attack cleared the 200 pt. mark for the second week, scored their 3rd helmet in a row (6th overall). Luck, Anderson, AJ, Julio, Antonio and the RAMS all led the Attack to a stranglehold on first place. Only Lacey managed to clear 20 points for the Wranglers. The Wranglers really didn't have much on the bench. The Young Gunz and 14.4 point lead were not enough on Monday night against the Jelly Beans, White and Adams. The Beans also had tow wait until the end of the game to score their revenge to an early season loss pot the Gunz. This game was the closest of the week, but the Commish went another way with the GOW. The Beans were led by Cutler, Charles and Jeffery in the half-point win. The Gunz were led by Romp and M. Bryant. There was help on the bench for the Gunz to complete the sweep. The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the Bishops of Battle and the Dream Team. The Bishops, Rodgers and Crosby barely overcame a 44.6 point lead against the Dream Team on Monday night. It could have ended earlier in the second half but a missed extra point meant the agony lasted until there was only 4 minutes left in the game. The Bishops were led by Rodgers and Hilton as they avenged their early season loss to the Dream Team. The Dream Team was lead by Brady, Foster, Megatron and Gronk in the loss that dropped them out of the Money. Edelman (who I pulled from the lineup in the last minute because of a Questionable status) would have kept the Dream Team in the Money. CHATTERBOX:(Get Quotes in by Monday Night)
