![]() Week 13 finds the Commissioner wondering if the Young Gunz have some kind of crystal ball. And if they do, where was it on draft day? Week 14's lineup deadline is also the trade deadline. Normally there is no need to mention this in this league, but this is not a normal year. The waiver wire does seem to have cooled down a bit this week. BTW, given this weeks results, be warned, there will be venting and maybe a bit of wining. Don't forget to keep an eye on the old web site (http://swffl.50megs.com). It has updated archives and historical records. I will also add some web-exclusive materials there, like the complete 2013 Draft analysis, as I develop them. Anybody with ideas, send them to me and I will see what I can do. Key Matchups to watch this Week The Good Fellas will try to complete the season sweep of the Fightin' Irish and keep their Money Hopes alive. The Black and Blue will try to continue there steam roll run of the SWFFL by sweeping the Roxborough Wranglers. The Dream Team will try and bounce back from an epic whipping by sweeping the Bishops of Battle. In a battle of Money Teams, the shop will try to keep their Championship hopes alive by sweeping the Money Takers. In a battle of pride, the Young Gunz will try to sweep the Jelly Beans. Spock was 4/5 last week making him 35/55 (64%) on the year. He retains top billing. Norm was 1/5 last week making him 30/55 (55%) on the year. His lines (my estimates) appear below: FI -1 GF (263) MT -1 BS (263)RW -2 BB (266) JB -2 YG (258) DT -9 BI (279) Four games were over on Sunday. The other game had a little Monday Night Madness. Because of the closeness and the involvement of a team in the standings, one might think that the Body Shop-Bishops of Battle contest might be a game of the week (but it wasn't). The Bishops of Battle avenged their early season battle with the Body Shop and perhaps ended their Championship hopes. The Bishops were led by Rodgers in the victory. Only Stills managed to clear 20 points for the Body Shop (hey what happened to Graham?). A Wright or Floyd start would have had the Shop still in a tied for first. The Money Takers completed the season sweep of the Roxborough Wranglers and jumped back up into third place. The Money Takers failed to field a 20 point starter. Brees led the Wranglers in this even closer game (still not game of the week). A Reed start would have kept the Takers from leap-frogging the Dream Team in the standings. |
The Young Gunz completed the season sweep of the Fightin' Irish. The Gunz were led by Hopkins in the win which has left the Irish in the basement (maybe permanently). LaFell led the Irish in the loss. An Allen or Rivers start may have kept the Irish hopes of escaping the basement alive. The Good Fellas completed the season sweep of the Jelly Beans and kept their Money hopes alive as Tannenhill could not overcome a 50.9 point lead. The Fellas were led by Sanchez, McCoy, Bell in the win. Jackson and Jeffrey led the Beans in the loss. The Beans had some help on the bench, but not enough where it would make a difference. The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the Black & Blue Attack and the Dream Team. This got "GOW" honors because it involved 2 Money teams. OK the real reason was that the Black & Blue Attack set a new single game scoring record as they racked up their 3rd helmet in a row and basically put a stranglehold on first place. OK, so my teams score as a respectable score (3rd highest this week) and what do I get. An epic loss (possibly largest of all time) and the Takers jumped above me in the standings again despite the fact that I outscore them, didn't I mention that I hated that a couple weeks ago. The Attack also completed the season sweep of the Dream Team, due in large part to the performances of Luck, Anderson, Julio, Brown, Fleener and the RAMS (both of which were recent pick ups). The Dream Team was led by Megatron and Brady in the loss. The Dream Team had a lot of help on the bench (including a 50+ point performance by a RB), but none of it would helped as the Attack gave us an epic whipping. Well played Attack. Well played.
