![]() Week 9 finds the Commissioner's office returning to normal. I am sorry for the issues last week. At any rate - you can not call my old house number any more, if you need to get me please get me on my cell. The standings are still cozy after 9 weeks with 6 teams within 2 games of first. I guess those "Dreams" a certain team had of running away with it and wrapping it up early are starting to fade. Don't forget to keep an eye on the old web site (http://swffl.50megs.com). It has updated archives and historical records. I will also add some web-exclusive materials there, like the complete 2013 Draft analysis, as I develop them. Anybody with ideas, send them to me and I will see what I can do. Key Matchups to watch this Week The Bishops of Battle will take on the Body Shop in a contest between grizzled old vets. The Good Fellas will try to keep a hold on their current Money spot against the Black & Blue Attack. In what is almost a must win game for both teams, the Jelly Beans take on the Fightin' Irish. In a battle between the top 2 teams in the standings the Dream Team will take on the Young Gunz. In what is most definitely a must win game for both teams the Money Takers take on the Roxborough Wranglers. Spock was 4 of 5 in week 8 making him 16 of 30 (53%) on the year. He retains top billing. Norm was 1 of 5 last week making him 13 of 30 (43%) on the year. His lines (actually my estimates) appear below: BS -1 BI (242) DT -8 YG (256)BB -1 GF (247) MT -3 RW (239) JB -3 FI (241) One game was over on Sunday, one was more or less over and a few had at least a little Monday Night Madness. In an extremely high scoring game, the Young Gunz scored the second highest total points for a game. The Black & Blue Attack put up 187.3 and still lost by almost 50 points. In fact the only thing in question going into Monday night was whether Marshall and the Bears could put the Gunz over the 245.6 mark which is the record. I am not sure, but the 418.7 points combined is probably a record. Garcon, Marshall, Gonzo and monster performances by Andre Johnson and Foles led the Gunz to the top of the group of teams tied for second. The Attack was led by Peterson, Green, Allen, Luck and Graham in the heart breaking loss. The Jelly Beans, Jeffrey and a 63.3 point lead were too much for the Money Takers and Bennett. The Beans were led by Brady (glad to see Gronk back), CJ2K and DeSean in the win. Only Ridley managed to clear the 20 point total for the Takers. |
The Dream Team, Nelson and a 44.2 point lead was too much for the Body Shop, Lacy and Boykin on Monday night. It is hard to figure if the Rodgers injury helped or hurt the Shop (I think it helped). The Dream Team was led by Hilton and Gronk as they maintained their tenuous hold on the first place. The Shop was led by Brees and Lacy in the loss. The Fightin' Irish needed to overcome a 57.8 point lead against the Good Fellas on Monday night. That is a tall order, but it looked at least possible with the Irish putting Rodgers, Starks and Gould on the field on Monday/ It looked possible until the Packers first drive found Rodgers in the locker room getting x-rays. Without their leader, the Irish fell well short of the goal and had no players clear the 20 point barrier. The Fellas were led by the CHIEFS as they joined the second place tie group in the standings. The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the Bishops of Battle and the Roxborough Wranglers. The Wranglers carried a 16.2 pont lead into Monday night against the Bishops, Forte and Crosby. Forte with some help from Romo and Stacy, got the job done on Monday and the Bishops also joined the crowd n second place. The Foster injury on Sunday night did not help the Wranglers cause, nor did starting an inactive White. Newton and Dobson led the Wranglers as they now find their season on the line.
