![]() Week 4 finds only 1 undefeated team and only one winless team. The rest of the league is primarily at the 500 mark. The waiver wire is still humming along as it usually does at the beginning of the season. I've noticed that some teams have been dropping players while they still have undrafted slots available. We only draft 16 players but you can carry 18, so make sure you fill those empty slots before you drop anyone. Don't forget to keep an eye on the old web site (http://swffl.50megs.com). It has updated archives and historical records. I will also add some web-exclusive materials there, like the complete 2013 Draft analysis, as I develop them. Anybody with ideas, send them to me and I will see what I can do. Key Matchups to watch this Week The Fightin' Irish and Bishops of Battle will meet in a contest of 2-2 teams. I another battle of 500 teams, the Body Shop will take on the Young Gunz. In a contest between the only two teams above the 500 mark, the Dream Team will take on the Black & Blue Attack in what could be an early battle for first place. The M. Takers will try to join the grouping in the middle against the Good Fellas who are scoring points but only have a 500 record to show for it. The Jelly Beans will try notch that first win against the 2-2 Roxborough Wranglers. Norm (guesstimated) was 2 of 5 last week making him 5 of 10 (60%) on the year. He retains top billing and his lines (actually from the man himself) appear above. Spock was 2 of 5 on the week making him 4 of 10 (40%) on the year. His locks appear below: BI -4 FI (264) GF -9 MT (269)YG -1 BS (275) RW -26 JB (252) DT -12 BB (298) Three games were over on Sunday one was more or less over and only 1 had some Monday Night Madness. The Bishops of Battle had already notched the victory against the Jelly Beans with Clay and Colston in their back pocket. The Bishops were led by Romo and Forte as they climbed up to an even record. The Jelly Beans are still searching for that elusive first win. Brady and Boldin led the Beans in their most effort to grab that "W". The Beans left some ammo on the bench but not enough to make a difference. In a game that was all over on Sunday, the Dream Team key that perfect record going as they also notched their 2nd helmet of the year against the Good Fellas. Manning, Bush, Cruz and Gates led the Dream Team as Father Norm did not any offer nay Mercy to his offspring. The Fellas were led by Ryan, Lynch, Smith and Cameron and in reality put up enough points to win any game most weeks. The Fellas only coaching mistake would not have made a difference in the outcome. |
In the other family affair this week, the elder family member proved to be better as well. The Roxborough Wranglers defeated the Fightin' Irish and pulled them from a Elite position to eighth place. The Wranglers were led by Rivers, Foster, Brown and Bryant in the victory and climbed to 500. The Irish were led by Welker in the loss. Perhaps someone should remove the Waiver-Wire key from Coach Bone's hands. The Young Gunz climbed back into a Elite Spot by defeating the M. Takers as an 80.6 point lead and Hartley were too much for Sproles on Monday night (although he did put up a valiant effort). The Gun were led by Charles, Gore and Gonzo in the win. The Takers were led only by that Monday night performance by Sproles as they dropped below 500. The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the Black & Blue Attack and the Body Shop. Ok the game wasn't that close, but it was decided on Monday night, involved a Elite Team and I suppose if Jimmy Graham had broken his leg in the first quarter, Brees may have been able to carry the Shop to the come from behind victory. (Ok even then it would not have been close). Some game has to get "GOW" honors. The Attack was led by Thomas, Graham and an MVP performance by AP as they climbed into sole possession of 2nd place. The Shop was led by Brees and Wayne as they dripped back down to the 500 mark. The Shops bullets that were left on the bench would not have made a difference, which is not usually the case in the "GOW", but this is not you typical Game of the Week.
