![]() OK Week 14 finds the Commissioner's office back in a grumpy disposition. That was quite a big fall - on top one week to almost out of the Elite the next. I guess that does say something about the competitiveness of the league - but I am in no mood to dwell on the good things this week. I am not looking this roller coaster ride, and as such I am sure the Notes will reflect these feelings. Although I have not marked them as of yet, the bottom 3 teams are eliminated from a Elite Spot and the Shop is really all but out at this point now. That is the kind of grumpy news I will be delivering so read at your own risk. Don't forget to keep an eye on the old web site (http://swffl.50megs.com). It has updated archives and historical records. I will also add some web-exclusive materials there, like the complete 2013 Draft analysis, as I develop them. Anybody with ideas, send them to me and I will see what I can do. Key Matchups to watch this Week In a battle of the only teams with double-digit wins, the Bishops of Battle will try to avenge their early season loss to the defending Champion Young Gunz. In a battle that is more about pride than anything else, the Body Shop will try to avenge their early season loss to the Fightin' Irish. In a battle between former partners on opposite ends of the standings the Black & Blue Attack will try to avenge their early season loss to the M. Takers and keep the title hopes alive. In a family affair the Dream Team will try to avenge their early season loss to the Jelly Beans. The Good Fellas will try to sweep the Roxborough Wranglers and keep their title hopes alive. Spock was 5 of 5 last week making him 31 of 55 (56%) on the year. He retains top billing. Norm was 1 of 5 last week making him 24 of 55 (44%) on the year. His lines (my estimates) appear below: BI -1 YG (259) DT -9 JB (265)FI -2 BS (250) RW -2 GF (254) MT -1 BB (253) None of the games were over on Sunday. Two were pretty much over as well. The other 3 had some Monday Night Madness. The Black & Blue Attack avenged their early season tight loss to the Dream Team, scored their 3rd helmet of the season and leaped over the Dream Team in the standings. I hate you Attack. The Attack, McCown and a 48 point lead were far too much for Murray to overcome on Monday night. The Attack was led by McCown, Flash Gordon, Thomas and Graham. Manning was really the only starter to show up for the Dream Team, and there was not a whole lot left on the bench either. Both teams still have title hopes, but the Attack has the inside track at this point. |
The Good Fellas completed the season sweep of the M. Takers as Bailey and a 74.6 point lead were too much for Bennett on Monday night. The Fellas were led by Shady, Edelman and the CHEIFS as they kept their Elite hopes alive. The Takers failed to get 20 points out anyone on their roster. The Jelly Beans completed the season sweep of the Roxborough Wranglers as Jeffrey easily hurdled the 6.7 point lead the Wranglers carried into Monday night. The Beans were led by Brady as they kept their Elite hopes alive. The Wranglers wasted very nice performances by Rivers and Brown. A start by the Law Firm over an inactive Jennings would have made a big difference. The defending champion Young Gunz jumped back into the top spot by avenging their early season loss to the Body Shop. The Shop, Witten the COWBOYS and a 2.3 point lead did not hold up against the Gunz against Bryant, Marshall and the BEARS. The loss has all but ended the Shop season. A Bell start could have kept that Shop season alive (more alive than it is now). The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the Bishops of Battle and the Fightin' Irish. It did not look good for the Bishops as the Irish carried a 43 point lead into Monday night against Romo and Forte. Romo and Forte did the job, building on nice Sunday games by Rainey, Streater and Graham *the other one) to launch the Bishops back into a tie for first place. The Irish put up a very nice score in the loss, led by Big Ben, Allen, Fitz and a record-breaking performance by Prater (sorry Tom, Jason, David and Sea-bass). A Richardson start over Jackson would have done the trick. CHATTERBOX:(Get Quotes in by Monday Night)
