![]() Week 13 has the Commissioner's office feeling a little better. There were no semi-controversies this week, the standings are looking better and that helmet in the middle of the page is just icing on the cake. I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving, enjoying good food with family and friends. I personally was very happy to see my kids back from college. Don't forget to keep an eye on the old web site (http://swffl.50megs.com). It has updated archives and historical records. I will also add some web-exclusive materials there, like the complete 2013 Draft analysis, as I develop them. Anybody with ideas, send them to me and I will see what I can do. Key Matchups to watch this Week The Bishops of Battle will try to keep those Championship hopes alive by completing the season sweep of the Fightin' Irish. The Young Gunz will try to keep the trophy in Young Gunz HQ by avenging their early season los to the Body Shop. In a battle of Elite teams, the Dream Team will try to repeat their early season win over the Black & Blue Attack. The Good Fellas will try to keep their fading Elite hopes alive by sweeping the M. Takers. The Jelly Beans are clinging to Elite hopes and they probably need to complete the sweep of the Roxborough Wranglers. Spock was 3 of 5 last week making him 26 of 50 (52%) on the year. He retains top billing. Norm was 2 of 5 last week making him 23 of 50 (46%) on the year. His lines (my estimates) appear below: FI -1 BI (251) MT -3 GF (255)BS -2 YG (256) JB -4 RW (260) DT -9 BB (269) Two games were over on Sunday. The other 3 were pretty much over as well. In fact all the games were decided by more than 20 points. Game of the week will be a tough decision this week. The Black & Blue Attack completed the season sweep of the Body Shop and tightened their grip on that last Elite spot. The Attack, Graham, Haushka and a 89.8 point lead proved to be far too much for the Shop and Bress on Monday night. The Attack was led by McCown (1 of 4 Attack QBs), AP and a monster game out of Flash Gordon (got that one from Norm who I am sure stole it from somebody else). There really wasn't much help on the bench for the Shop as they have now lost 5 in a row (just couldn't get over that Dream Team loss). |
The Dream Team and a 42.5 point lead proved to be too much for the Good Fellas and the Beast. The Dream Team swept the kids (Father still knows best), grabbed their 4th helmet of the season and climbed back to the top of the standings. That nad Norm's narrow survival in the "Survivor" pool made for a very nice week at Dream Team HQ. The Dream Team was led by Peyton, Bush, Murray, Gronk and Tucker. Palmer, Floyd and Smith led the Fellas as they did manage to put up a nice score in the loss. Week 13 is no time for moral victories (is there ever a good time?). The Fellas left more than enough points on the bench to make a difference. How do you sit Decker when you're facing Manning? The defending Champion Young Gunz kept their repeat hopes alive by completing the season sweep of the M. Takers. The Gunz were led by Stafford and Dre' Johnson in the win. The Takers only had a 20 point performance out of Wallace as they lost their 3rd in a row. The Takers had some options on the bench, but none that would have moved them out of the basement with a "W". In another family affair, the Wranglers completed the season sweep of the Fightin' Irish. The Wranglers were led by White and Gostkowski as they also jumped above the Irish in the standings. The Irish were led by Big Ben and Larry Fitz in the loss. Maybe Coach Bone did a bit too much tinkering with the team as they are now the lowest scoring team and only the Takers are behind them in the standings. The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the Jelly Beans and the Bikshops of Battle. The Beans scored their 5th "W" and split the season series with the Bishops. The Beans were led by Brady, Spiller and a monster game by Jeffery as they knocked the Bishops out of the top when Colston could not overcome a 85.1 point lead on Monday night. Only Megatron managed to clear 20 points for the Bishops. The Bishops left some bullets on the bench, but none that would have kept them in first place. CHATTERBOX:(Get Quotes in by Monday Night)
