![]() Week 12 saw a little controversy in the SWFFL. There was a trade where a team way down in the standings traded their very early second round pick for and a 5th round draft pick and an undrafted player to a high standing team. Later that week we saw the same low standing team start a player that was ruled out on Friday against the same high standing team. Now to be perfectly honest, I do not believe there was any collusion here at all. However, if I were going to explain what collusion might be, these would be two prime examples of things that might appear to be collusion. The funny thing is, a certain owner asked me early why our league was so hung up on collusion. Just the "appearance" of possible collusion has riled up the league quite a bit, could you imagine if it were real. OK, time to step off the soapbox. Don't forget to keep an eye on the old web site (http://swffl.50megs.com). It has updated archives and historical records. I will also add some web-exclusive materials there, like the complete 2013 Draft analysis, as I develop them. Anybody with ideas, send them to me and I will see what I can do. Key Matchups to watch this Week The Bishops of Battle will try to hold the top spot by sweeping the Jelly Beans. The Black & Blue will try to hold on to that last Money spot by sweeping the Body Shop. The Dream Team will try to keep their Championship hopes alive by sweeping the Good Fellas in a family affair. The Young Gunz will try to keep those back to back title hopes alive by sweeping the Money Takers. In another family affair the Figthin' Irish will try avenge their early season loss to the Roxborough Wranglers. Spock was 4 of 5 last week making him 23 of 45 (51%) on the year. He regains top billing. Norm was 3 of 5 last week making him 21 of 45 (47%) on the year. His lines appear below: JB -1 BI (265) MT -1 YG (257)BS -2 BB (258) FI -3 RW (261) DT -9 GF (271) None of the games were over on Sunday. At least a few of the games that were not over had some real Monday Night Madness. The Bishops of Battle, the 49ERS and a 34.7 point lead proved to be too much for the Good Fellas and the Davis on Monday night. With the win the Bishops avenged their early season loss to the Fellas, won their 6th game in a row, and held sole possession of first place. OK wasn't as big a week as last week, but still worth a Toast or two (pun intended). We have heard a rumor that the Bishops had some outside consulting help on the Glennon pick. It certainly did not go poorly as he was their only 20 point starter. The Fellas failed to field a 20 point starter and an Edelman start might have kept them in the Money. |
The Black & Blue Attack completed the season sweep of the Figtin' Irish as Gore was unable to hurdle a 24,8 point lead on Monday night, The Attack was led by Moreno, AP and Graham as they jumped back into the Money. The Irish were led by Big Ben, Allen and Fitz in the loss and had no real help on the bench. The Young Gunz avenged their early season loss to the Roxborough Wranglers as Garcon was unable to over come a wopping 20.6 point lead on Monday night. The Gunz were led by Stafford, Charles, Marshall and Burleson as they try to defend their Championship. Cam and Brown led the Wranglers in the loss and there was no help on the bench either. The Dream Team and a 41.2 point lead just barely held off the Money Takers, Kapernick and Morris on Monday night. Only Gronk managed to score 20 for the dream Team as they completed the sweep of the Takers and kept their Championship hopes alive. The Takers were led by Kapernick and Austin in the loss. A Walllace or Bennet start would have really dampened the mood in the Commissioners office. The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the Jelly Beans and the Body Shop. The Beans avenged their early season loss to the Shop as Boldin managed to eclipse the 23.9 points he needed on Monday night. The "W" kept the Beans in the hunt for the Money spot and really put a dent in the Shop plans for a Money spot. The Beans were led by Brady and Boldin. The Shop was led by Brees and Lacy in the loss. With a 2 point loss there quite often is a player or 2 or 3 that would have made the difference on the losing bench. This case was no different. There were several claims of "being Jinxed" coming out of the Shop HQ on Monday night. CHATTERBOX:(Get Quotes in by Monday Night)
