![]() Well here we go again. Our 25th season is under way. 25 years, wow that is amazing. I have been running this league for more than half of my life. Anyway good luck everyone except when you are facing the Dream Team. It came to my attention at the settle-up party that there was some confusion about the Dream Team expenses (because I subtracted the 250 for Sportsline and Commissioner's fee right off the expenses). I have changed that so that it is more transparent with expenses where they belong and with a 250 payment credited to the Dream Team. If anybody still has a question, do not hesitate to ask me. BTW, how about that Chip Kelly offense!!! By the way, the old web site (http://swffl.50megs.com) has updated archives and historical records. I will also add some web-exclusive materials there like the complete 2012 Draft analysis as I develop them. Anybody with ideas, send them to me and I will see what I can do. Key Matchups to watch this Week The Black & Blue Attack take on the Bishops of Battle in contest that involves owners from the Freddy years. In a battle of the young versus the not-so-young, the Good Fellas take on the Body Shop. In a battle between some high-scoring teams that came up short in the end, the Young Gunz will take on the Jelly Beans. In a match of undefeated teams, the M. Takers will take on the Fightin' Irish. In a contest between both ends of the Standings the Dream Team will take on the Roxborough Wranglers. Spock beat Norm last year. Look for them to renew their annual battle of wits next week. Spock's lines appear above, but they will not count in the 2011 Oddsmaker battle. We got Norm a little more involved last year, maybe we can do better this year. I did that analysis based on last year's points, It is 35 out of the 72 in picking Elite Teams. As always, this analysis is based on last year's performance in points per game. If you are depending on a rookie or a comeback player then ignore these results. If you aren't necessarily relying on either of these type players and you're on the bottom of the list, you might want to consider hitting the transaction wire hard. See the old website for details on what players made up your Best Lineup based on 2012 points.
Every game but one had at least a little Monday Night Madness!! I guess that is what happens when they have 2 Monday night games. |
The Body Shop, Matthews and a 26.4 point lead proved to be too much for the Bishops of Battle and Fred Davis on Monday night. The Shop did battle through the air as Brees, Jones, Amendola, Wayne and Witten all cleared the 20 point mark. The Bishops were led by Romo and Cobb in the loss. There was some help on the Bishops bench, but it would not have been enough. The Black & Blue Attack and an 86.3 point lead held off the Good Fellas and McCoy on Monday night. The Attack was led by Luck, AP, Thomas and V-Jax in the victory. The Fellas were led by Ryan, McCoy and Davis in the loss. A lineup with Eli, Edelman and Cameron would have made a difference for the Fellas. The Dream Team, Gates and a 136.9 point lead were far too much for the Defending Champion Young Gunz, Vick, Johnson and Garcon. The Dream Team was led by an MVP performance by Peyton, as well as nice performances by Bush, Cruz and Nelson as they snagged the first helmet of 2013. The Gunz were led by Vick, Marshall and Dre as they put up an impressive score in the loss. The M. Takers, Morris and a 77.6 point lead were too much for the Roxborough Wranglers and Foster. The Takers were led by Kaepernick and AJ Green in the victory. The Wranglers failed to field a 20 point starter and there was not a whole lot of help on the bench either. The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the Fightin' Irish and the Jelly Beans. The Irish and Daniels carried a 12.9 point lead into Monday night against the Beans, DeSean and Henery. Jackson and Henery gave the Beans a lead after the first Monday night game, but Daniels brought the Irish back on top early on Tuesday morning. The Irish were led by Rodgers, Fitgerald, Welker and Daniels in the "W". The Beans were led by Brady, DeSean and Cook in the loss that could have been avoided with a Boldin or Smith loss.
