SPOCK'S LOCKS FORMAT - Favorite w/Spread on top - Underdog w/Under-Over in parenthesis

Week 6 finds the standings looking very interesting. Every team is either 4-2 (the haves) or 2-4 (the have nots). I don't think I've ever seen that before. The youngsters seem to be running out of steam and some old vets are rising up to challenge them. Despite the BYEs, the waiver wire has cooled considerably.

Don't forget to keep an eye on the old web site (http://swffl.50megs.com). It has updated archives and historical records. I will also add some web-exclusive materials there, like the complete 2012 Draft analysis, as I develop them. Anybody with ideas, send them to me and I will see what I can do.

Key Matchups to watch this Week

The Bishops of Battle will try to capture their third "W" and Helmet against the Jelly Beans in a battle of "have" team and a "have not" team. In a battle of Elite teams, the Body Shop will try to knock the M. Takers out of their recently acquired first place position. The Black & Blue Attack take on the Fightin' Irish in a battle of "have not" teams. Ina another battle of "have not" teams, the Dream Team takes on the Roxborough Wranglers. In a battle of the youngster Elite teams, the Young Gunz take on the Good Fellas.

Spock was 4 of 5 last week making him 12/20 (60%) for the year. Spock's Locks appear above. Norm was 4 for 5 last week making him 9/20 (45%) on the year. Norm's Lines (actually my estimates) appear below:

BI -2 JB (252)     DT -8 RW (274)
BS -3 MT (261)     GF -1 YG (255)
BB -1 FI (243)

Two games were over on Sunday. All 3 of the others had a bit of Monday night Madness.

The Bishops of Battle notched their second victory against the Roxborough Wranglers. Rodgers, Green and Welker led the Bishops to their second helmet as well. Bishops, your next trick will be to win a game without having to put up the highest score in the league. The Wranglers were led by Brady and Rice in the loss. There was a little help on the Wrangler bench but not enough as both teams join the "have not" bunch at 2-4.

The M. Takers knocked off the Good Fellas and took the top standings spot away from hem as well. The Takers were led to the top by RG3, Harvin and Maclan. Vick and Bryant led the Fellas in defeat. There were some Good Fellas bullets on the bench but not enough to make a difference.

The Jelly Beans, Rivers and a 17.3 point lead proved to be too much for the Black & Blue Attack, Decker and Prater. The Beans were led by Rivers and Moore as they climbed into a tie for first place, although their point total is keeping them below the Elite line. The Attack was led by Rice, Decker and Fitzgerald in the loss. A James Jones start over Lloyd would have put both teams at the 3-3.

The Fightin' Irsih, Manning and 2.4 point lead were too much for the Young Gunz and Matthews. The Irish were led by Manning and Wallace as they climbed up into the 2-4 bunch. The Gunz were led by V-Jax in the loss. A Britt and Boldin start would have put the Gunz back in first place all by themselves.

The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the Dream Team and Body Shop. This is another case where another 2 games were candidates for GOW honors, but commissioner's prerogative has kicked in. The Body Shop and Gates overcame the Dream Team and a 16.3 point lead on Monday night. More than that, the Dream team had a 74 point lead after Sunday afternoon's action. The Shop had only Foster, Nelson and Gates left. Granted these are 3 good players, but Nelson and Gates had been off their game for most of the year, so I thought my chances were good. After Nelson and Foster put up 5 TDs in the Sunday night game, I obviously was feeling considerably worse. By the end of the first half, Gates had added 2 more TDs and had put the Shop on top for good. Interestingly, I don't think Gates had more than 1 catch for the rest of the game. The Shop was led by Gates and Nelson as they climbed into a tie for first place. Stafford led the Dream Team in the loss. A Dez Bryant start over any of the Dream Team RBs would have pulled them to the .500 mark.
