![]() Week 3 finds the youngsters dominating the standings. Will the Good Fellas find the trophy again? Will the Young Gunz get past that early season wall that seems to get them every year? The reformed Bishops of Battle are still trying to find that first "W". Just as the waiver wire starts to cool . . . here come those dreaded BYE weeks. BTW, the BEST lineup thing is fixed. Don't forget to keep an eye on the old web site (http://swffl.50megs.com). It has updated archives and historical records. I will also add some web-exclusive materials there, like the complete 2012 Draft analysis, as I develop them. Anybody with ideas, send them to me and I will see what I can do. Key Matchups to watch this Week The Bishops of Battle will try to notch that first "W" against the Black & Blue Attack (remember when we used to have the Black Bowl, oh well, time to come up with something new.) In a battle of Money teams, the undefeated Good Fellas will try to stay that way against the Body Shop. The Fightin' Irish and the Jelly Beans will meet in a battle to get back to .500. The Money Takers (off to a nice start) will try to keep their roll going right on over the Roxborough Wranglers. The Young Gunz will try to stay undefeated and atop the standings against the Dream team who are still looking for a kick start. Spock was 3 for 5 (60%) last week. His Lock's appear above. Norm was 1 of 5 (20%), his Lines (not estimated this year) appear below: BI -2 BB (241) RW -5 MT (236)BS -1 GF (250) DT -10 YG (290) JB -3 FI (248) Only 1 game was over; 3 others were more or less over and 1 had some degree of Monday Night Madness, sort of. The Money Takers had a 71.2 point lead and the PACKERS in their back pocket against the defending Champion Jelly Beans. Takers were led by Charles and Rudolph. K Bubba I was wrong about Rudolph and I admit it, but when does RG3 get a start? The Beans were led by McFadden in the loss. They had some help on the bench, but it wouldn't have been enough. The Fightin' Irish handed the Bishops of Battle their 3rd loss in as many weeks, as Rodgers and Finley failed to overcome a 51.9 point lead. The Irish were led by Manning, Brown, Megatron, Holmes and Wallace as they grabbed the Week 3 helmet and their first "W". The Bishops were led by Welker and Green. Despite the 48.2 loss the Bishops best lineup (Dalton, Rodgers, Heyward-Bey and Bironas) would have netted the Bishops their first SWFFL "W" and their first SWFFL helmet by 6 tenths of a point. |
The Black & Blue Attack and a 55.5 point lead proved to be too much for the Body Shop and the Nelson on Monday night. The Attack was led by Ryan, Rice and Fitzgerald in their first win. The Shop failed to field a 20 point starter. In fact the on Shop player with any luck topping 20 points was Luck. However, he and the rest of the Shop best lineup would have still lost. The Good Fellas, Cobb and a 29.9 point lead held off the Dream Team and Lynch on a Monday night. The Fellas were led by MJD and Brown as they remain undefeated as they handed dear old Dad and partner their second loss. The Dream Team failed to field a 20 point scorer. The Dream Team had some help on the bench, but not enough. CJ and Stafford have been disappointing thus far. So can we get a do-over on the early part of the draft?? The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the Young Gunz and the Roxborough Wranglers. The Gunz and a 28.7 point lead was more than enough against the Wranglers and Jennings. It was a gutsy call to start a banged up Jennings on Monday night by the Wranglers. A Beg Ben start over Brady would have been an even gutsier call, and that is what it would have taken for the Wranglers to hand the Gunz their first loss. The Gunz were led by Brees, Gozo and Hanson as they continue their early season dominance. The Gunz seem to like this new 2 TE set thing. The Wranglers were led by Washington as they fall into that rather large group of 1-2 teams. CHATTERBOX:(Get Quotes in by Monday Night)
