![]() Week 16 finds the Young Gunz still on top but things sure are getting interesting. The Gunz still can't drop out of the Elite but assuming the Beans will not make up 200 points on them they could drop to third. The Fellas and the Irish have very reasonable shots at the trophy. The Beans and the Dream Team are playing in a battle for the last Elite spot. Who needs playoffs!! Don't forget to keep an eye on the old web site (http://swffl.50megs.com). It has updated archives and historical records. I will also add some web-exclusive materials there, like the complete 2012 Draft analysis, as I develop them. Anybody with ideas, send them to me and I will see what I can do. Key Matchups to watch this Week In the only game without Elite implications, the Bishops of Battle will try to complete the season sweep of the M. Takers. The Good Fellas will try to complete the season sweep of the Black & Blue Attack and hope for some help that will score them the 2013 trophy. In a family affair, the Fightin Irish will try to sweep the Roxborough Wranglers and maybe (with a little help) score their first SWFFL trophy. In another family affair and a battle for the last Elite spot, the Dream Team will try to sweep the Jelly beans and sneak in to the Elite in the final week. The Young Gunz will try to sweep the Body Shop and finally take that final step to their first SWFFL trophy. Norm was 4 of 5 making him 33/70 (47%) on the year. His lines (my estimates) appear above. Spock was 2 of 5 last week making him 35/70 (50%) for the year. His locks appear below: MT -1 BI (253) DT -1 JB (255)GF -14 BB (250) YG -17 BS (251) FI -19 W (251) All of the games were over on Sunday and Monday night madness is done for the year. None of the games wee particularly close either. I guess I will have to go with some Elite teams in Game of the Week. The Bishops of Battle avenged their early season loss to the Jelly Beans. The Bishops were led by Rodgers, Green, Thomas, Welker and Walsh. In the loss, only the CHARGERS managed to clear the 20 point barrier for the Beans. The Beans had some points on the bench but not enough to make a difference. The Beans loss and the Dream Team's mini point explosion set up an interesting Week 17 match up which will probably decide the final Elite spot (assuming no big 100 point swings). |
The M. Takers avenged their early season loss to the Body Shop. The win for the Takers ended a 4 game skid and perhaps kept them from having a possible basement issue in week 17. The Takers were led by Newton and Charles. The Body Shop failed to field a 20 point starter in their seventh loss in nine games. There wasn't a whole lot of help on the Shop bench either. The Black & Blue Attack avenged their early season loss to the Fightin' Irish. The Attack was led by Ryan, Rice, Decker, Jones and Jones in the win. Despite the win, the Attack still has a firm grip on that basement spot. The Irish were led by Peyton and Megatron in the loss, which (thanks to the Gunz loss) did not have a huge affect on their chance at a title. The Dream Team completed the season sweep and finally scored their first helmet of the year. The high point total, due in large part to Lynch, Bryant and White, has left the Dream Team with a real possibility of slipping into a Elite spot at the end of the season. The Wranglers were led by Brady in the loss. The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the Good Fellas and the Young Gunz. The Good Fellas avenged their early season loss to the Young Gunz and kept their (and the Irish) championship hopes alive. The Fellas were led by Romo, Ant. Brown and the BEARS. The Gunz were led by Brees in the loss. The Gunz have lost 3 of 4 and are sputtering down the home stretch. They still have the inside track to their first SWFFL trophy, however a few weeks ago it looked like a sure thing and now --- not so much. CHATTERBOX:(Get Quotes in by Monday Night)
