![]() Week 15 finds the Young Gunz still on top, but despite having clinched a Elite spot, their lead is down to 1 game. In my haste to get these notes out on a timely basis I mad a couple of errors last week. One was an error of omission as I failed to mentions that the Jelly Beans notched their 200th victory. Congratulations Jelly Beans. The other error was just a falsehood. I claimed the Dream Team had swept the season series with the Bishops of Battle. Not only did the Dream Team loose to the Bishops in Week 5, the SWFFL incarnation of the Bishops of Battle notched their first "W", notched their first SWFFL Helmet and won by a hefty 65.3 point margin. Sorry Bishops. Don't forget to keep an eye on the old web site (http://swffl.50megs.com). It has updated archives and historical records. I will also add some web-exclusive materials there, like the complete 2012 Draft analysis, as I develop them. Anybody with ideas, send them to me and I will see what I can do. Key Matchups to watch this Week The Jelly Beans will try to sweep the Bishops of Battle and keep their chance of repeating alive. The Body Shop will try to sweep the M. Takers, since these 2 teams met 9 weeks ago they have 3 W's between them - 2 at the expense of the Dream Team. Don't think I have not noticed. The Fightin' Irish will try to sweep the Black & Blue Attack and maybe get a shot at that trophy. The Dream Team will try to complete the season sweep of the Roxborough Wranglers and keep their ever slimming Elite hopes alive. In a battle of the youngsters, the Young Gunz will try to sweep the Good Fellas and maybe finally clinch that title. Spock was 2 of 5 last week making him 33/65 (51%) for the year. His locks appear above. Norm was 1 of 5 making him 29/65 (44%) on the year. His lines (my estimates) appear below: BI -1 JB (253) DT -8 RW (264)MT -2 BS (248) YG -2 GF (252) BB -1 FI (251) One game was over on Sunday. Two were more or less over. The other two had some Monday night Madness. The Roxborough Wranglers avenged their early season loss to the Bishops of Battle in a very close game. This would be a candidate for Game of the Week, but not on this week. The Wanglers were led by Brady in their 3d win in a row. The Bishops were led by Dalton and Walsh. With a one point loss there are plenty of options on the bench that would have made a difference. This is the case here as well, but perhaps the most glaring coaching mistake was the benching of number one pick overall, Aaron Rodgers. Fantasy Football 101: Do not bench your studs. |
The Good Fellas avenged their early season loss to the M. Takers and have all but wrapped up the last Elite spot. The Fellas were led by Romo, Morris, AD/AP, and Hernandez. The Takers were led by Newton in the loss (8th loss in the last 9 games). The Jelly Beans completed the season sweep of the Black & Blue Attack primarily on the strength of Kaepernick's performance The Attack was led by Decker and the FALCON double bubble loss that could have been avoided by options on the bench. In an odd quirk, Sportsline had credited the 49ers and the Attack for the Gore fumble recovery instead of Gore and the Beans. They corrected it by Monday morning. LIVE scoring can have mistakes and some types of score won't even show up during LIVE scoring. The Body Shop completed the season sweep of the Dream Team as Chris Johnson was unable to overcome a 39.5 point lead on Monday night (although he did come close). This probably would have been Game of the Week in most weeks but not this week. The Shop failed to field a 20 point starter as they win their second game in eight weeks. The Dream team was led by CJ2K and Lynch in the loss. There were several options n the Dream team bench that would have given them a decent shot at a Elite spot which is now a long shot at best. The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the Fightin' Irish and the Young Gunz. When the top 2 teams in the standings meet this late in the season and the Championship is till on the line, it will be a the Game of the Week. The Irish completed the season sweep of the Gunz as Kenny Brit fell well short of the 46.2 points that separated the teams going into Monday night. The Irish were led by Moreno, SeaBass and Johnson & Johnson as they pulled within a game of first place. The Gunz were led by Bees as they lost there 2nd game of the last 3, perhaps that trophy grip is slipping a bit. CHATTERBOX:(Get Quotes in by Monday Night)
