SPOK'S LOCKS FORMAT - Favorite w/Spread on top - Underdog w/Under-Over in parenthesis

Week 9 finds the Beans still cruising at the top with a 2 game lead. The waiver wire is starting to cool down, although we did have another trade involving 3 players (BTW, on that trade the Young Gunz paid all transaction fees). DON'T forget, the NFL starts their silly Thursday night games in Week 10. I love football, but I really do not like the Thursday games (how about Friday night or Saturday night).

Don't forget to keep an eye on the old web site (http://swffl.50megs.com). It has updated archives and historical records. I will also add some web-exclusive materials there, like the complete 2010 Draft analysis, as I develop them. Anybody with ideas, send them to me and I will see what I can do.

Key Matchups to watch this Week

The Roxborough Wranglers will try to complete the season sweep of the Dream Team and keep that Money Spot. In a battle of Money teams, the Fightin' Irish will try to complete the season sweep of the Money Takers. In a family affair, the Jelly Beans will try to complete the season sweep of the Good Fellas and keep that stranglehold on first place. In the second Black Bowl, the Black & Blue Attack will try to sweep the Black Revenge and try to get back to that Money spot. The Young Gunz will try to complete the season sweep of the defending (not really defending it well) Champion Body Shop.

Spock was 4 of 5 making him 16 of 35 (46%) on the year and he regains top billing, his locks appear above. Norm was 2 of 5 making him 20 of 35 (57%) on the year. His lines (actually my estimates) appear below:

DT -9 RW (269)     BR -3 BB (259)
MT -2 FI (258)     BS -4 YG (252)
GF -1 JB (253)

Only one game was over on Sunday. The four other games had some Monday Nigh Madness (some more than others).

The Young Gunz climbed above .500 by defeating the Dream Team. Since this is week 9, there will be no chance for revenge for the Dream Team. The Gunz were led by Marshall, Nelson and Gates. The Dream Team were led by Rodgers. A lynch over Blount start combined with a PATRIOT over RAIDER start would have had the Dream Team climbing above the .500 line instead of the Gunz. Interestingly, the SWFFL Dream Team has the same number of losses as the self-proclaimed NFL version.

The Roxborough Wranglers, Celek and a 36.7 point lead proved to be too much for the Black & Blue Attack, Avant & Maclan on Monday night. This also was a battle of 4-4 teams that have stepped on either side of the .500 line and again the Attack will have no chance at revenge. The Wranglers were led by Manning and Welker. The Attack was led by Tolbert in the loss although they had some help on the bench in Cundiff and Tate, they would not have changed the outcome. The Wranglers won their 3rd in a row and climbed above the Money Line. It is nice to see the newest team doing well but, honestly, I'd rather have that Money spot.

The Fightin' Irish and 54.3 point held off the Black Revenge and Henery on Monday night. The Irish, led by a monster performance by the Charger Double Bubble with an assist by Witten, scored their first helmet of the year and nabbed sole possession of second place. The Revenge was led by Romo and Foster in the loss which leaves the Revenge dangerously close to the basement.

The Body Shop and 22.5 point lead just barely held off the Good Fellas, the BEARS and Gould on Monday Night. The Shop was led by Tebow and their newly acquired toy Murray. It must have been some night for the Shop. The BEAR players score just enough points for the EAGLES too loose and the Shop to win. The Fellas were led by Brady Julio Jones in the loss and despite losing by less than 3 points they really did not have much help on the bench.

The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the Jelly Beans and the Money Takers. The Body Shop-Good Fellas game was clser, but this game featured the top 2 teams in the standing going in to the week. The Beans, Forte and McCoy beat out the Takers, Vick, D-Jax, EAGLES and a 9 point lead on Monday. He Beans were led by Brees, McCoy and the PACERS as the maintained their 2 or more game lead on the rest of the league. The Takers were led by Gronkowski in the loss as the EAGLE double bubble laid an egg on Monday night. Bubba, do me a favor and go back to over-drafting VIKINGS.
