![]() Week 7 finds the Beans still undefeated and it is starting to look more and more like the rest of us (except for maybe the M. Takers) are playing for second place. Well the BYE weeks have certainly put a charge into the waiver wire. A key pickup and a little luck could make almost any bad start a distant memory. There is still time left, but there isn't a whole lot left. Don't forget to keep an eye on the old web site (http://swffl.50megs.com). It has updated archives and historical records. I will also add some web-exclusive materials there, like the complete 2010 Draft analysis, as I develop them. Anybody with ideas, send them to me and I will see what I can do. Key Matchups to watch this Week The Dream Team and the defending champion Body Shop in a battle of teams that really did not do so hot on that post-draft analysis. The Fightin' Irish will try to keep the Good Fellas from taking their Elite spot (not to mention a bunch of other 3-4 teams). The M. Takers and Black Revenge meet in a battle of teams that are one step out of the penthouse and basement (that may not be a surprise, the surprise might be which team is which position). The Jelly Beans will try to keep right on rolling through the rest of the league as they take on a perennial contender the Black & Blue Attack. The Young Gunz will try to complete their turn-around against the Roxborough Wranglers. Spock was 4 of 5 making him 11 of 25 (44%) on the year and he gains top billing, his locks appear above. Norm was 1 of 5 making him 14 of 25 (56%) on the year. His lines (actually my estimates) appear below: DT -9 BS (257) BB -1 JB (243)GF -2 FI (248) RW -4 YG (246) BR -3 MT (251) There were 4 games were over on Sunday. The other one had some Monday Night Madness (if any Monday Night Madness could be found in that game). The Black & Blue Attack defeated the Dream Team as both teams settled in at 3-4 and just outside the Elite. The Attack was led by Newton, Megatron, Wallace and Fred Davis. The Dream Team was led by the PACKER double-bubble. The Dream Team was hurt by an early injury to Graham and too many starters in the BROWN-SEAHAWK game. |
The Roxborough Wranglers handed the Body Shop their 4th loss in a row and climbed back into Elite contention. The Wranglers were led by Big Ben and Steve Smith (the old good one - who is good again). The Shop was led by newly acquired Tebow. Perhaps Tebow can turn the Shop around. He will have to play for more than 3 minutes to do that. The M. Takers kept pace with the Beans by defeating the Good Fellas and winning their 4th game in a row. The Takers were led by Colston and Sproles (it was a good week to have a SAINT in the lineup). The Fellas were led by Peterson and Bryant (and probably sat down to Sunday night's dinner confident of a victory). The Young Gunz, Boldin and a 61.7 point lead were too much for the Fightin' Irish, Flacco, Rice, Torrey Smith and the RAVENS. A 60+ point lead is a lot, but we are talking about a first round, RB, a QB, WR and a top 5 Defense. Unfortunately, for the Irish the Ravens didn't even notch their first first-down until midway through the 3rd quarter. Flacco eventually threw a TD, but he threw it to Boldin. The Irish clearly had far too many Ravens in their line-up. The Gunz were led by Murray. It must be nice breaking Emmit's single game rushing record in your first start (Felix who?). The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the Jelly Beans and the Black Revenge. Usually, I like to reserve this spot for a game with Monday night implications, but I just couldn't include a game where one team scored less than 70 points. So, the next best choice was the game involving the only undefeated team. The Beans were led by Forte and the Saint double-bubble (assuming a TE is allowed to be part of a double-bubble). The Revenge wasted a 50+ point MVP performance by Foster. Unfortunately, for the Revenge, Foster did not get enough help. CHATTERBOX:(Get Quotes in by Monday Night)
