![]() Week 6 and the Beans are still rolling along. Yeah most of us are still within a game of a money spot and even 2ns place is still in play for the most part, but the main question is "Who'll stop the Beans?", to paraphrase Creedence Clearwater Revival (CCR). For the Young Gunz and the Good Fellas, CCR is a rock group from the late 60's and early 70's. The BYE weeks sure have the waiver wire buzzing. Hey someone even decide to make a trade with the Dream Team, a truly rare event. Don't forget to keep an eye on the old web site (http://swffl.50megs.com). It has updated archives and historical records. I will also add some web-exclusive materials there, like the complete 2010 Draft analysis, as I develop them. Anybody with ideas, send them to me and I will see what I can do. Key Matchups to watch this Week The Dream Team and the Black Revenge meet in a contest between two teams looking to jump over that Money line. The Body Shop will try to revive it's championship defense against the Roxborough Wranglers, but at 1-5 this will be a long uphill climb. The Money Takers and Good Fellas will meet in a battle of Money teams. The Jelly Beans will try to keep that record unblemished against the Black Revenge. The Fightin' Irish will try to keep their Money Spot against the Young Gunz who seem to be sliding to the bottom of the standings. Spock was 3 of 5 making him 7 of 20 (35%) on the year and he gains top billing, his locks appear above. Norm was 2 of 5 making him 13 of 29 (65%) on the year. His lines (actually my estimates) appear below: DT -8 BB (272) BR -1 JB (259)BS -3 RW (249) YG -2 FI (256) GF -4 MT (262) There were 2 games were over on Sunday. The other 3 had Monday Night Madness to some degree or another. The Figtin' Irish handed the defending Champion Body Shop their third loss in a row. The Irish were led by Gore in the victory. The Shop with 53 points failed to have a starter clear 20 points. There wasn't a while lot of help sitting on the bench either. 53 points Casey, I think you need a bigger miracle than Tebow can provide. Hey 11-5 is still statistically possible, but you will need more than 53 points a week (a lot more). |
The Good Fellas defeated the Black & Blue Attack largely due to the efforts of Brady and Turner. The "W" got the Fellas above the Money Line and back to the .500 mark. The Attack was led by Cam Newton in the losing effort. The Attack left some points on the bench but not enough to make a difference. The Jelly Beans kept their undefeated record in place as the Roxborough Wranglers and Santonio Holmes could bot overcome a 45.6 point lead. The Beans were led by Brees as they kept a 2 game lead on the rest of the league. The Wranglers failed to field a 20 point starter or on the bench for that matter. Holmes had a respectable game, but 45.6 points is a lot of points for a WR to put up. The Money Takers and a 45 point lead proved to be too much for the Young Gunz, Marshall and Keller on Monday night. The Takers are as hot as any team in the league not named after an Easter Holiday treat (yeah I know the origin of the name is really an alcoholic beverage). The Takers were led by surprise of the year Fred Jackson and Colston. The Gunz were led by Stafford, Nelson and Boldin and with their 3rd loss in a row are as cold as the Takers are hot. The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the Dream Team and the Black Revenge. You can chalk this GOW decision up to Commissioner's privilege if you want but it was the closest game and did have some Monday Night Madness. The Dream Team and a 32.2 point lead proved to be too much for the Revenge, Folk and the JETS. I have to admit that early pick off return for a TD by the Jets had me a little nervous. The Dream Team was led by Rodgers and they are once again knock knock knocking on that Money line again (sorry youngsters another early 60s rock allusion). The Revenge was led by Mendenhal in the loss. A freeman start would have had the Revenge and the Dream Team switching positions in the standings. CHATTERBOX:(Get Quotes in by Monday Night)
