![]() Week 3 finds only 2 undefeated teams remaining and every team has notched at least one "W". Believe it or not every team is either tied for 4th or above (in fact 7 teams are 1-2 and all are tied for 4th). There is also tie for first. So after 3 weeks the standings are still pretty close and we have had 21 transactions. Looks like things are still jumpin' hope we can keep it going for a lot longer. Don't forget to keep an eye on the old web site (http://swffl.50megs.com). It has updated archives and historical records. I will also add some web-exclusive materials there, like the complete 2010 Draft analysis, as I develop them. Anybody with ideas, send them to me and I will see what I can do. Key Matchups to watch this Week In a family affair, the Dream Team will take on the Good Fellas in a battle of teams locked up in the 1-2 log jam. In another family affair and battle of ex-partners, the Fightin' Irish will take on the Roxborough Wranglers. In another battle of ex-partners the Money Takers will take on the Black & Blue Attack (seems like maybe there is a bit too much inbreeding in the league). The Body Shop and Black Revenge meet up in another battle of 1-2 teams. The final game features the only 2 undefeated teams, the top 2 teams, the Jelly Beans and the Young Guns. After Week 4, to quote the Highlander, "There can be only one." Norm was 4-5 (80%) last week and he gets top billing, and his locks (actually my estimates) appear above. Spock was 1-5 (20%) last week. His lines appear below: GF -7 DT (275) BS -1 BSR (257)RW -1 FI (265) YG -14 JB (282) MT -5 BB (269) Only one game was over on Sunday. The rest had some Monday Night Madness (some more than others). The Dream Team notched their first "W" against the Money Takers. Dream Team was led by Matthews and the PACKER double bubble. The Takers were led by Jackson and Gronkowski (apparently he is spending a lot less time blocking this year). Vick's underwhelming performance may have had a little to do with the outcome as well. A Sproles start over D-Jax would have kept the Takers above 500. The Good Fellas and Dez Bryant barely overcame a 9.1 point lead and the Roxborough Wranglers. The Fellas were led by Brady and Bradshaw. The Wranglers were led Big Ben and an MVP performance by Welkers. There were several options that would have given the Wranglers the win. The most reasonable one was several options for the inactive Hillis. |
The undefeated Jelly Beans, Moss and a 30.3 pt. lead held off the undefeated Fightin' Irish and Witten. The Beans were led by Brees, McCoy and Graham. None of the Irish starters managed to clear the 20 point barrier. The Irish left a lot of points on the bench, but the easiest way for them to win was to play Flacco over Rivers. That trigger would be awfully hard to pull. The Young Gunz and a 59.8 pt. lead were too much for the Black Revenge and Romo on Monday night. The Gunz were led by Stafford, McFadden and Andre Johnson. The Revenge failed to start a 20 point scorer. They did have some higher scoring players on the bench but their best line up would have fallen short and the Gunz would still remain undefeated. The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the Body Shop and the Black & Blue Attack. It looked bad for the Shop as they needed the COWBOYS defense to overcome a 1 point lead against Davis and the Attack. The COWBOYS were able to keep it close in large part due to the fact that the REDSKINS rediscovered Chris Cooley and sort of shunned Fred Davis. Davis was able to snag 1 catch for 23 points and with the clock running out, the Black & Blue looked like they had the "W" wrapped up. On the last play of the game that did not involve a QB taking a knee, the COWBOYS sacked Grossman and forced a fumble which they recovered. The play gave the COWBOYS the victory and the 3 points (sack and fumble) netted the defending champion Body Shop their first "W" of the year and the Helmet. That must have been a pretty exiting moment for you Casey. The Shop was led by Stevie Johnson, White and Finley. The Attack was led by Wallace and the Megatron. A Fitzpatrick or Ingram start could have kept the Shop winless. CHATTERBOX:(Get Quotes in by Monday Night)
