![]() Week 2 finds the standings in a familiar position. There are 3 undefeated teams, 3 winless teams and 4 teams that have the picket fence thing going on. The waiver wire seems to have cooled down a bit, but 16 pickups in 2 weeks is a fairly good pace. I suppose some of those 0-2 teams will be hitting that waiver wire pretty hard or perhaps it is still a bit early to be pushing the panic button. Just to be on the safe side, I have had my "Panic" button relocated to a secret location. Don't forget to keep an eye on the old web site (http://swffl.50megs.com). It has updated archives and historical records. I will also add some web-exclusive materials there, like the complete 2010 Draft analysis, as I develop them. Anybody with ideas, send them to me and I will see what I can do. Key Matchups to watch this Week The M. Takers will try and keep the Dream Team winless and jump above the .500 line. The Roxborough Wranglers are also trying to get above the .500 line and keep the Good Fellas winless. The Jelly Beans and Fightin' Irish meet in a battle of undefeated teams. The Black & Blue Attack will try to keep the defending champion Body Shop winless. The Young Gunz will try to keep their record spotless with a "W" against the Black Revenge. Norm's lines (actually my estimates) appear above. Spock's Locks appear below: MT -25 DT (273) BB -10 BS (264)RW -19 GF (289) YG -29 BR (273) FI -1 JB (302) Two of the games were over on Sunday; 2 others were more or less over and one had some real Monday Night Madness. The M. Takers notched their first "W" of the season against the Roxborough Wranglers. The Takers were led by Vick, Fred Jackson and that "blocking" TE from New England. He sure does seem to catch a lot of TDs as well. Hillis and the revitalized "Cam Newton" version of Steve Smith led the Black Revenge in the defeat. The Jelly Beans remained undefeated by keeping the defending Champion Body Shop winless. The Beans were led by Bress, Forte and McCoy as they remain at the top of the standings. The Shop was led by Stevie (perhaps not a flash in the pan) Johnson the Cardinal double bubble. A Sims-Walker, Starks or Green-Ellis start over Felix Jones would have given the Shop a "W". |
The Fightin' Irish, Mannigham and a 34 point lead were too much for the Dream Team and Cadillac Williams. Hey Caddy didn't they teach you about the difference between a forward and backward pass in high school? Anyway, Rice, Henderson and the Charger Double Bubble kept the Irish undefeated. Despite the efforts of Rodgers, Blount and Matthews the Dream Team is still seeking that first "W". The Young Gunz and a 48.2 point lead proved to be too much for the Black and Blue Attack and Kendricks. The Gunz were led by Stafford, McFadden, Briit and Andre Johnson as they grabbed their first Helmet of the year. The Black & Blue were led by Newton, Best and Wallace in the losing effort. Talk about bad luck, Manning, Charles and facing the helmet is tough. At least they have a "W" which is more than I can say I have. The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the Black Revenge and Good Fellas. The Revenge and a 25.2 point lead barely held of the Fellas, Bradshaw and Nicks. The Revenge nabbed their fist "W" of the year on the strength of the COWBOYS double-bubble. The Fellas fell to 0-2 as the efforts of Brady, Peterson and Turner fell just short. The Fellas could have notched the "W" by playing Gonzo over Hernandez. Granted playing a TE against the EAGLES secondary would not make a lot of sense, but the CBs are the good point in the EAGLES secondary and they rarely cover TEs. Still, even this early it is hard to sit any New England TE. If they only had one TE getting all those stats how much value would he have? CHATTERBOX:(Get Quotes in by Monday Night)
