![]() Week 12 finds a few of those teams above the Elite line separating themselves from the rest of us, and there is little time left to close that gap. The Beans have all but locked up a Elite Spot and continue to maintain that 2 game lead on the rest of the league. The Irish slipped a little and their 4th place spot may be the only one those of us out of the Elite have a shot at. Don't forget to keep an eye on the old web site (http://swffl.50megs.com). It has updated archives and historical records. I will also add some web-exclusive materials there, like the complete 2010 Draft analysis, as I develop them. Anybody with ideas, send them to me and I will see what I can do. Key Matchups to watch this Week The Dream Team will try to repeat their Week 4 win over the Good Fellas as both teams try to keep their slim Elite hopes alive in this family squabble. In another family battle 9and a battle of ex-partners to boot), The Fightin' Irish will try to sweep the Roxborough Wranglers and keep their tentative hold on the last Elite Spot. Ina another battle of ex-partners the M. Takers will try to sweep the Black & Blue Attack and keep their Championship hopes alive. In a game with a little pride on the line, the Black Revenge will try to sweep the Body Shop and keep the Shop in the basement and themselves out of it. In the only battle between Elite Teams, the Jelly Beans will try to sweep the Young Gunz and widen that gap between themselves and the contenders and maybe move up the clinching celebration. Spock was 4 of 5 making him 26 of 50 (52%) on the year and he retains top billing, his locks appear above. Norm was 3 of 5 making him 28 of 50 (56%) on the year. His lines (actually my estimates) appear below: DT -9 MT (267) BS -2 BR (247)RW -1 FI (253) JB -4 YG (258) BB -2 MT (256) Two games were over on Sunday. The other 3 games had some Monday Nigh Madness (some a lot more than others). The Body Shop completed the season sweep of the Black & Blue Attack. The Shop was led by late season pickup Robinson. Interestingly, the Shop only has 3 wins to date and 2 of them are against the Black & Blue Attack. The Attack was led by Newton (also a free-agent pick up). There were plenty of points on the Attack bench and many ways the Attack could have gained the season sweep. The Young Gunz completed the season sweep of the Black Revenge and kept pace with the Jelly Beans. The Gunz were led by Stafford, Marshall and White. Mike Williams was the only Revenge starter to clear the 20 point barrier. A Moore start over Mendenhall would have salvaged the split for the Revenge. |
The Roxborough Wranglers avenged their early season loss to the Good Fellas in a Week 3 1.2 pint thriller. The Wrangelers earned their "W" from the season series with a bit to spare as Nicks was unable to make up a 35.6 point lead n Monday night. The Wranglers were led by Welker as they wind up just a game out of the Elite. The Fellas were led by Brady in the loss that keeps them 2 games out of the Elite. The Fellows and Wranglers would have switched spots in the standings if the Fellas would have started the right Jones at WR. The first place Jelly Beans completed the season sweep of the Fightin' Irish as Brees, Graham and a 30.6 point lead proved to be way too much for the Irish and Cruz. The Beans were led by the Benson and the aforementioned SAINT double-bubble (TE is a stretch - but we'll let it slide). The Irish were led by Cruz who pretty much was a one man team and was barely nipped out of the weekly MVP by Brees. The Beans kkep a 2 game lead on the competitors and the Irish have to switch from trying to catch the Beans to keep someone outside the elite form catching them. The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the M. Takers and the Dream Team. The Takers achieved the season split and managed to keep pace with the Beans as Sproles, Graham, Kasay and the SAINTS barely overcame a 29.5 point lead on Monday night. The Takers were led by Young and Harvin as they squeaked out the 1.5 point victory. The Dream Team was led by Rodgers as they lost a chance to move up on a Elite team. This game was really interesting as it looked like the Dream Team would hold off the Monday night onslaught as they entered the 4th quarter. With a few minutes left, Kasay kicked the Takers into the lead. Sproles added a couple of yard rushing and Kasay added his 5th extra point to ice the cake. There were a couple of options on the bench that would have turned the tide for the Dream Team. CHATTERBOX:(Get Quotes in by Monday Night)
