NORM'S LINES - Favorite w/Spread on top - Underdog w/Under-Over in parenthesis

Week 7 finds no undefeated teams and no winless teams. In fact it seems like there is a 3-way battle for the top 3 spots and a 7-way battle for that last Elite spot. Well maybe everyone will stay interested longer. The waiver wire appears to be fairly active as well.

Don't forget to keep an eye on the old web site (http://swffl.50megs.com). It has updated archives and historical records. I will also add some web-exclusive materials there, like the complete 2010 Draft analysis, as I develop them. Anybody with ideas, send them to me and I will see what I can do.

Key Matchups to watch this Week

The Good Fellas lost their first game and the Black Revenge fell out of the Elite. They meet in week 8 as one will bounce back. The Fightin Irish will try to keep pace with the top teams against the Black & Blue Attack who want to not be known as one of the bottom teams. In a battle of Elite Teams, the Body Shop will take on the Dream Team (Hey, technically we are a Elite Team). The M. Takers will try to end their losing streak against the Jelly Beans who just ended a losing streak of their own. In a battle that smacks of the Old West, the Roxbrugh Wranglers will take on the Young Gunz - heard this one is being held at a special venue - the OK Coral.

Norm was 4/5 last week making him 13/25 (52%) on the year. His lines (actually my estimates) appear above. Spock was 1/5 last week making him 11/25 (44%) on the year. His locks appear below:

GF  -8 BR (240)     MT -6 JB (234)
FI -18 BB (244)     RW -3 YG (243)
BS  -9 DT (251)

Three games were over on Sunday; the other two had some definite Monday Night Madness.

The Jelly Beans halted a 4 game losing streak by besting the Black Revenge. The Beans were led by Colston and Ward. Orton and Bowe led the Revenge. Manning and pretty much any one of their RBs or WRs could have kept the "Casper" streak alive. The Revenge dropped out of the Elite into the logjam at 3-4 with, among other teams, the Jelly Beans.

The Dream Team defeated the M. Takers and climbed back into the Elite. The Dream Team was led by Brees and Harvin. Now I have to relay some personal correspondence here. Every week I hear a certain owner complain about how I say he could have won if he played so and so instead of watchamacallit. Well this week we may have a record for bad coaching. I do not think I ever saw anyone score more than 100 points less than their best possible score (85.8 of a possible 197.1). I suppose that owner will be complaining again. Wow! That is a lot of bench points, I suppose I should be grateful, instead ripping the Takers. Nah . . . .

The Young Gunz handed the Fightin' Irish their second loss in a row. The Gunz were led by Turner and Boldin as they joined the crowd at 3-4. The Irish wasted an MVP performance by White as well as a chance to make up ground on the GoodFellas.

The Body Shop, Jones, Witten, Beuhler and a 3.2 point lead were too much for the Black & Blue Attack and Jacobs. The Shop was led by Rodgers and Witten as they closed the gap between them and the top of the standings and grabbed the helmet. The Attack failed to have starter score over 20 points as they closed the gap between them and the bottom of the standings. To be fair, they were incredibly handicapped by this weeks BYE.

The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the Good Fellas and the Roxborough Wranglers. The Fellas, Nicks and a 15 point lead could not hold off the Wrangelers, Romo, Smith and the COWBOYS. The Wrangelers were led by Peterson and Smith as they handed the defending Champions their first loss of the year. The Fellas were led by Nicks and Ochcinco as they also were hit pretty hard by the BYE week blues. Despite all the BYE week zeros on their bench the Fellas could have remained undefeated by starting Jones over Mendenhall, Williams or Moss. Now, I know benching Moss and Mendenhall were not options, but my guess is starting Jones over Williams was a consideration. A consideration not taken and now the Fellas can join us all back on the real world where undefeated seasons do not exist. BTW, see Bubba, I do the bench thing with everybody.
