![]() Week 4 finds only 2 undefeated teams remaining and every team is off the schneid. The transaction wire is sizzling. Half of the teams are sitting in a 1-3 log jam. All seems right with the fantasy world. Well it seems one team is having a small issue with fantasy/scheduling Gods, but we won't let that spoil the rest of wholesome perfection in the league. Yeah, I know you all are getting tired of hearing this, but just think how tired I am of having to experience it and then have to write about it. If I had to write the Notes last night, they wouldn't have been written. OK - enough of that (for now anyway). Don't forget to keep an eye on the old web site (http://swffl.50megs.com). It has updated archives and historical records. I will also add some web-exclusive materials there, like the complete 2010 Draft analysis, as I develop them. Anybody with ideas, send them to me and I will see what I can do. Key Matchups to watch this Week In a battle of grizzled veteran teams, the Black Revenge(1-3) will take on the M. Takers(2-2). Two of those 1-3 teams will meet as the Dream Team and Roxborough Wranglers meet fresh off losses to the undefeated teams with family ties. In a battle of Elite Teams, the 2-2 Jelly Beans take on the undefeated Fightin' Irish. In another battle of Elite Teams, the 3-1 Body Shop will take on the undefeated defending Champion Good Fellas. In another battle of 1-3 teams the Black & Blue Attack will take on the Young Gunz. Spock was 4/5 last week making him 5/10 (50%) on the year. His locks appear above. Norm was 3/5 last week making him 4/10 (40%) on the year. His lines (actually my estimates) appear below: BR -3 MT (233) BS -2 GF (244)DT -8 RW (250) YG -4 BB (238) JB -1 FI (241) No games were over on Sunday; two were more or less over and three had some real Monday Night Madness. The Body Shop and a 45.6 point lead were too much for the Jelly Beans and the DOLPHINS on Monday night. The Shop was led by Rodgers and Foster. Gradkowski and McCoy led the Beans in the losing effort. Who is Bruce Gradkowski? The Shop climbs to 3-1 but the Beans hang on to the last Elite Spot at 2-2. The M. Takers, Marshall and a 27.1 point lead were too much for the Young Gunz and Moss on Monday night. The Takers were led by Rivers and Jones-Drew. The Young Gunz failed to field a 20 point starter. It did not help that Vick played less than a quarter and Randy Moss got blanked. A Palmer and Greene start over the aforementioned Vick and Moss would have put the Gunz at 2-2 instead of the Takers. |
In the first semi-annual Black Bowl the Black and Blue Attack notched their first "W" over the Black Revenge. The Attack carried a 21.5 point lead and Henne and Gostowski n Monday night. The Revenge had only the PATRIOTS defense. Believe it or not the Attack needed the Henne and Gostowski points at the PATRIOTS defense went off. The Attack was led by Henne, Tomlinson and Wayne. The Revenge was led by Johnson, Miller and the PATRIOTS. An Orton and McGahee start would have kept the Attack winless. In an effort to change my karma or something I am not making my game the Game of the Week. The Good Fellas and 12.2 point lead were too much for the Dream Team and the Brown on Monday night. Brown came up short and the Dream Team lost its 3rd game by less than 5 points. The Dreamers are 1-3 with the highest scoring team in the league. This is getting old quick. The Fellas were led by Manning and Mendenhall as they remain undefeated in their title defense. The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the Fightin' Irish and the Roxborough Wranglers. The Irish, Brady and Welker managed to barely overcome a lead by the Wrangler and Ellis-Green and a 8.4 point on Monday night. Lloyd led the Irish and kept them undefeated. All the Wranglers' starters failed to clear the 20 point barrier. Despite losing by only 2.8 points the Wranglers could not have started a line-up that would have changed the outcome. In fact, in large part due to the BYE, the Wranglers only had 13 bench points. So the older brother slips to 1-3 as the younger brother enjoys a tie for first with a 4-0 record.
