Well, we end our 22nd season with a nice little battle for the final Elite Spots. The Body Shop (13-4) tied with several teams (including themselves a couple of years ago) for the second best record ever (Dream Team's 14-3 mark in 2001 is still the best under my stewardship - still not sure of the Assassin record in 1989). The Shop also won 7 helmets including the all important "Golden Helmet" in week 17 and set the single season scoring record. Congratulations to the Shop and the other Elite Teams. For next season do not forget to consider the Offensive Fumble recovery change. I will send out an e-mail about the settle up party. We are probably looking at February 20 - because of Valentines Day.

Don't forget to keep an eye on the old web site (http://swffl.50megs.com). It has updated archives and historical records. I will also add some web-exclusive materials there, like the complete 2010 Draft analysis, as I develop them. Anybody with ideas, send them to me and I will see what I can do.

OK, this is the part where I look back at the draft analysis I do at the beginning of most years. This year it picked 1 of the 4 Elite teams making 29 of 64 overall. Still below 50%, but unless someone has a better idea, I'll probably continue the same old analysis. It picked the Shop to finish last. Perhaps it is not worth the effort.

Spock was 3 of 5 making him 32 of 75 (43%) on the year. Norm was 1 of 5 last week also making him 41 of 75 (55%) on the year. So Norm won the competition despite the Dream Team's mediocre season.

Since we have some extra room in the last week, I will be doling out my season-ending awards for the year. The 2010 Fantasy MVP award goes to Arian Foster (topping the 2nd running back by 90+ points). The PACKERS and EAGLES tied up the 2010 Fantasy NFL Team of the year award with 3 top 4 finishes each in the position rankings. The 2010 Surprise of the year is Michael Vick who wound up leading all QBs in scoring despite the fact he wasn't even an Opening Day starter. There were many candidates for 2010 Bust of the year, but I think Randy Moss clearly earned the title, managing to disappoint 3 NFL cities on top of many Fantasy owners who selected him early in the draft. The 2010 Worst Fantasy NFL Team goes to the DOLPHINS who managed to make even Brandon Marshall into an average wide-out and broke the RAIDERS 3 year streak for this award.

The Good Fellas avenged their early season loss to the Black Revenge but fell short of a Elite Spot by a triple digit point deficit. The Fellas were led by Manning, Mendenhall and Simpson as they finished the season above .500. The Revenge was led by Manning and Fitzgerald as they reached double digit losses. A PATRIOT, Hightower or Watson start by the Revenge would have left both teams at 8-9 as this was a real squeaker.

The Black & Blue Attack completed the season sweep against the Figthin' Irish. The Attack was led by Bush, Garcon, Wayne and Davis. They claimed the second place consolation prize to help soothe an otherwise disappointing season. The Black & Blue is not used to finishing under the Elite Line. The Irish failed to field a 20 point starter. The Irish held on to a Elite Spot despite the loss(4th in a row). The best Irish lineup would have lost as well.

The Body Shop apparently shook off their post-clinching celebration hangover and completed the season sweep of the Dream Team. The Shop did it in style as Foster, Matthews and Manningham lead them to the "Golden Helmet" as well - their 7th of the year. Only Gronkowski cleared the 20 pint barrier for the Dream Team, who ended yet another nightmare of a season.

The Jelly Beans completed the season sweep of the M. Takers and cemented their Elite spot. Neither team had a 20 point starter and neither team cleared triple digits. You can't fault the M. Takers as they broke the piggy bank and shelled out for 4 transactions in week 17 looking for a chance to win a consolation prize or unseat a Elite Team. The result (56.8 total points) does not tarnish the effort.

The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the Young Gunz and the Roxborough Wranglers. Hey it was a 6 point game involving a Elite team. The Gunz swept the Wranglers and grabbed second place. Freeman and Wallace led the Gunz to one of their best finishes. Ryan and the Jets led the Wranglers as they completed their inaugural season. Don't worry Wranglers it doesn't really get any easier with a couple of years under your belt, but the fun level seems to increase.
