![]() I hope Santa was nice to you all, I know he was nice to the Body Shop. The Body Shop clinched their second championship with a week to spare. Now eek 17 still has import, as 3 teams find themselves tied for second place and 2 other teams still have a slim shot at the Elite. So on top of the annual consolation prizes, week 17 has some added excitement. I will be very happy to never ever see Tuesday night football again. Don't forget to keep an eye on the old web site (http://swffl.50megs.com). It has updated archives and historical records. I will also add some web-exclusive materials there, like the complete 2010 Draft analysis, as I develop them. Anybody with ideas, send them to me and I will see what I can do. Key Matchups to watch this Week The Good Fellas will try to avenge their week 8 loss to the Black Revenge and with a little help grab a Elite spot. The Fightin' Irish will try to complete the season sweep of the Black & Blue Attack and maybe grab 2nd place. The Dream Team will try to avenge their week 8 loss to the Body Shop with the help of a little champagne hangover and maybe (with some more help) finish in the Elite. The Jelly Beans will try to sweep the M. Takers and secure their spot in the Elite. The Young Gunz will try to sweep the 'Old West' shootout competition and maintain their hold on a Elite spot. It looks like all 5 games have some Elite implications, got to love that. Norm was 5/5 last week making him 40/70 (57%) on the year. His lines (actually my estimates) are above (he has won the annual competition as well). Spock was 3/5 last week making him 29/70 (41%) on the year. His locks appear below: BR -7 GF (243) JB -3 MT (241)FI -9 BB (245) YG -8 RW (247) BS -16 DT (258) One game was over on Sunday, one was more or less over and the other three had some Tuesday Night Madness. The Body Shop swept the Black & Blue Attack, notched their 6th helmet of the year and last (and certainly not least) wrapped up their second championship. The shop was led by Foster, Rackers the CARDINALS and the PACKER double-bubble. Only Tolbert's zero kept the shop form eclipsing the 200 point barrier. That is winning the trophy in style. Despite how much I begged and pleaded the Shop wants that all important Week 17 helmet, so no resting the starters in week 17. The Attack was led by Meachem and Janikowski in the loss and failed to delay the Shop parade. |
The Black Revenge avenged their early season loss to the Jelly Beans as McCoy could not overcome a 60.5 point lead on Tuesday night. The Revenge was led by Manning, Charles, Bowe and Miller. The "W" may have saved some jobs in the Revenge front office, but it may take a week 17 helmet to really seal that deal. Despite, the loss the Beans are very much in the thick of the battle for 2nd place. The Dream Team completed the season sweep of the M. Takers and kept their slim Elite hopes alive as Maclin was unable to overcome a 21 point lead on Tuesday night (but he sure came close). The Dream Team was led by Gronkowski and Miles. Crabtree and Marshall led the Takers. A start by Big Ben or the VIKINGS would have ended the Dream Team Elite run and extended the Taker winning streak to a season high 3 games. The Roxbrough Wranglers completed the season sweep of the Good Fellas as Peterson and Jackson overcame a 12.7 point lead on Tuesday night. The Wranglers were led by Winslow as they all but locked up 9th place (and more importantly avoided the basement). A Miller or Greene start would have vastly improved the Fellas now slim odds of landing a Elite Spot. Hey "slim" is better than "none". The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the Young Gunz and the Fightin' Irish. The Young Gunz completed the season sweep of the Irish as Vick and the EAGLES barely overcame Akers and a 30.6 point lead. The Gunz were led by Vick and Wallace as they climbed into the 3 way tie for second place with the Beans and the Irish. The Irish was led by Brady and Daniels. A Thomas, Holmes or RAVENS start would have left the Irish alone in second place. CHATTERBOX:(Get Quotes in by Monday Night)
