![]() First of all I'd like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas. I hope Santa brings you all something special. Regrettably only one of us gets to take home the championship. Week 15 finds the championship all but wrapped up. The Body Shop has a 2 game and 190+ point lead with only 2 games left. There are 2 team ties at for 2nd, 4th and 6th places, so several teams still have a decent shot at a Elite spot. There was one thing that came up this week. Since we started this league, the DEF/ST position as awarded 7 points for offensive fumble recovery TDs. I have confirmed that Sportsline can not automatically do this. One of the responders thought it was weird for a league to reward points scored by the offense to a defense/special teams. I would like to resolve this in some manner. It only happens every couple of years or so, but I'd like to avoid any issues in the future. Don't forget to keep an eye on the old web site (http://swffl.50megs.com). It has updated archives and historical records. I will also add some web-exclusive materials there, like the complete 2010 Draft analysis, as I develop them. Anybody with ideas, send them to me and I will see what I can do. Key Matchups to watch this Week The Jelly Beans will try to stay in second place by sweeping the Black Revenge. The Roxborough Wranglers will try stay out of last place by sweeping the Good Fellas. The Body Shop will try to officially wrap up their title by sweeping the Black & Blue Attack. The Dream team will try to keep their slim Elite hopes alive by sweeping the M. Takers, who are trying to get out of that basement. In the only battle between Elite teams, the Figtin' Irish will try to avenge their early season loss to the Young Gunz. Norm was 3/5 last week making him 35/65 (54%) on the year. His lines (actually my estimates) are above. Spock was 0/5 last week making him 26/65 (40%) on the year. His locks appear below: BR -1 JB (255) DT -3 MT (243)GF -2 RW (236) FI -4 YG (246) BS -13 BB (253) Two games were over on Sunday, one was more or less over and the other two had some Monday Night Madness. The Black Revenge completed the season sweep of the Dream Team and notched their 3rd helmet of the year. The Revenge was led by Manning, Charles, Fitzgerald and Johnson & Johnson (couldn't resist). Brees, V-Jax and Moss led the Dream team in the loss. The Dream Team left a bunch of points on the bench, but even their best line up would have fallen short. |
The Jelly Beans avenged their early season loss to the Black & Blue Attack and pulled into a tie for second place. The Jelly Beans failed to field a 20 point scorer, however most of their lineup cleared double digits. The Attack was led by Schaub in the loss. The Black & Blue still has a chance to get in the Elite, but they are fading. The M. Takers avenged their early season loss to the Roxborough Wranglers as the BEARS and a 50.9 point lead proved far too much for an inactive AP. The Takers finally won 2 in a row as Rivers, Maclin and Marshall led the way (please note these WRs were obtained in an early season trade). The Wranglers were led by Kitna and Green-Ellis. Wasn't Smith inactive also? The Young Gunz avenged their early season loss to the Body Shop as Rice and Gould easily overcame a 0.6 point lead on Monday night. The Gunz were led by Vick, Blount and Williams. The Shop was led by Campbell and Witten. A Manningham start would have clinched the title for the Shop. The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the Good Fellas and Fightin' Irish. The Fellas completed the season sweep of the Irish as Bennet barely overcame a 4.3point lead on Monday night. The Fellas were led by Collie and Hernandez as they halted a 5 game losing streak. The Irish' were led by Rice in the loss. A Fitzpatrick, Lloyd or Sims-Walker start might have moved the Irish chances for a title out of the "Miracle Zone." CHATTERBOX:(Get Quotes in by Monday Night)
