![]() Week 12 finds a little shake up in the standings. The Jelly Beans jumped form fifth to third. The Top 2 teams are on a run winning 8 out of their last nine. Fortunately 4th place is still within range for most of the league. I'd like to wish Bone of the Fightin' Irish a happy Birthday. I'd also like to take this space to wish you all a belated Happy Thanksgiving. I hope you all find that you have plenty of reasons to be thankful (outside of the league- because let's face it, the Body Shop and the Fightin' Irish are the only ones with reasons to be thankful of the events occurring in the SWFFL). Don't forget to keep an eye on the old web site (http://swffl.50megs.com). It has updated archives and historical records. I will also add some web-exclusive materials there, like the complete 2010 Draft analysis, as I develop them. Anybody with ideas, send them to me and I will see what I can do. Key Matchups to watch this Week The Black & Blue Attack will try to sweep both Black Bowls by repeating their early season win against the Black Revenge. In a family affair, the Fightin' Irish will try to sweep the Roxborough Wranglers and keep the Body Shop in sight. The Body Shop will try to sweep the suddenly surging Jelly Beans and keep their stranglehold on first place. In another family affair the slumping Good Fellas will try to repeat their early season victory over the Dream Team and keep from sliding under the Elite Line. The Young Gunz will try to climb back above the Elite Line by avenging their early season loss to the M. Takers. Norm was 3/5 last week making him 26/50 (52%) on the year. His lines (actually my estimates) appear above. Spock was 2/5 last week making him 20/50 (40%) on the year. His locks appear below: BR -8 BB (252) DT -3 GF (239)FI -10 RW (248) YG -11 MT (237) BS -16 JB (256) One game was over on Sunday, the other four were more or less over. The Dream Team completed the season sweep of the Young Gunz. The Dream Team was led by Miles as they knocked the Young Gunz out of the Elite. The Gunz were led by Vick. There were some better plays on the Gunz bench, but even their best lineup would have fallen short this week. |
The Roxborough Wranglers and a 36 point lead were too much for the Black & Blue Attack and Davis. Mason and the JETs led the Wranglers as they completed the season sweep of the Black & Blue and put both teams in a logjam at 5-7. Jackson and Johnson led the Black & Blue in the loss. The Attack's best lineup also would have fallen short. The Fightin' Irish played keeping up with the "Caseys" by completing the season sweep of the M. Takers. The Irish were led by Brady, Lloyd and Welker as they kept their hold on second place. Only Branch managed to break the 20 point barrier for the M. Takers. Apparently your best shot at getting a point scorer in this game was on Thanksgiving Day. The Jelly Beans avenged their early season loss to the Good Fellas as Gore, Breaston and a 29.3 point lead were too much for the Fellas and the 49ERS. The Beans won their 3rd in a row and with a lot of help from Flacco jumped over the Elite Line and the Fellas with the "W". The Fellas were led by Manning and Mendenhall in their 3rd straight loss. The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the Body Shop and the Black Revenge. I chose this game because it was a high scoring contest between Elite teams. The Shop swept the season series with the Revenge in large part due to Hillis, Rodgers and Foster. The Revenge wasted an MVP performance by Bowe and good performances by Orton and Charles. A start of Knox and Hartley over CJ and Folk would have ended the shop winning streak. Either way, neither team really deserved a loss. CHATTERBOX:(Get Quotes in by Monday Night)
