![]() Well here we go again. Our 22nd season is under way. I hope everyone enjoyed the draft. I'd like to once again thank Ron for hosting the draft. I'd also like to wish all teams good luck. At least I wish you all have enough luck to finish in 2nd place to the Dream Team. Sorry for the delay - but I had some nasty bug. By the way, the old web site (http://swffl.50megs.com) updated archives and historical records. I will also add some web-exclusive materials there like the complete 2010 Draft analysis as I develop them. Anybody with ideas, send them to me and I will see what I can do. Key Matchups to watch this Week Some Old Seadogs will take on some folks from the Old country as the Black Revenge meet the Fightin' Irish. After losing a squeaker to one Coyle Brother, the Body Shop goes against the Roxborough Wranglers in week 2. The Dream Team and Black & Blue meet up in a battle of teams trying to capture their first win. The M. Takers will meet the defending champion Good Fellas in week 2. In the final contest of week 2, the Jelly Beans will look to outshoot the Young Gunz. Norm & Spock tied last year, so look for them to renew their annual battle of wits next week. Spock's lines appear above, but they will not count in the 2010 Oddsmaker battle. I did that analysis based on last year's points, It is 28 out of the 60 in picking Elite Teams. As always, this analysis is based on last year's performance in points per game (using the new scoring system). If you are depending on a rookie or a comeback player then ignore these results. If you aren't necessarily relying on either of these type players and you're on the bottom of the list, you might want to consider hitting the transaction wire hard. See the old website for details on what players made up your 2009 Best Lineup.
Every game had a little Monday Night Madness!! I guess that is what happens when they have 2 Monday night games. |
The Black Revenge and Chares extended their comfortable lead against the Roxborough Wranglers and Kaeding on Monday night. The Revenge were led by their running game which is good because their QB failed to score a full point. The Wranglers failed to have any player on their roster clear 20 points, so naturally their final score was er um a bit disappointing. The Fightin' Irish, Rice and a 20 point lead were too much for the Body Shop, Matthews, Floyd and the RAVENS (barely). At the second final gun of Monday night, the Shop fell 7.2 points short. The Shop wasted an MVP performance by Foster and a decent game by the PACK double-bubble. A Rackers start would have netted the shop a "W". The Irish were led by Brady, Welker and White. The M. Takers and Rivers easily overcame a 5 point lead against an old partner in the Black & Blue Attack. The Takers were led by Rivers and Mendenhal. Wayne was the only Attack member to clear 20 points and their best lineup would have also fallen short. The Good Fellas began their Championship defense by having a 14 point lead hold up against the Young Gunz and Shone Green. The Fellas were led by manning and OchoCinco. The Young Gunz were led by Cutler. There were several bullets on the Young Gunz bench that would have changed the outcome. The Fellas left Some points on the bench too, but it does not matter when you score that "W". The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the Jelly Beans and the Dream Team. In this family affair, the Beans and a 19.2 point lead held off the Dream Team and Gates. Gates fell 0.6 points short. That is 6 yards receiving or less than a reception. Of course, there were options for the Dream Team on the bench. Instead they were led by Miles Austin in the loosing effort. The Beans were led by Breaston and Clark in the win. Six-tenths of a point!!!!! CHATTERBOX:(Get Quotes in by Monday Night)
