![]() Week 9 finds a regular log jam at the top. In fact all but 3 teams are within 2 games of first place. The fact that the Dream Team finds itself second in scoring but in the basement as far as the standings go, finds the Commissioner wondering if the head to head system leaves a little something to be desired. Curse you Scheduling Gods!! With over half the games left is there still time for those of us looking up in the standings. Don't forget to keep an eye on the old web site (http://swffl.50megs.com). It has updated archives and historical records. I will also add some web-exclusive materials there, like the complete 2009 Draft analysis, as I develop them. Anybody with ideas, send them to me and I will see what I can do. Key Matchups to watch this Week The Black & Blue will try to complete the season sweep of the Tsunami Brothers in a contest between first place teams. The Black Revenge will try to keep up with the other 6-3 teams by repeating their week 1 victory against the M. Takers. In week 1, The Body Shop eked out a win in the battle for the first helmet of the year with the Dream Team, neither team has had much luck since. The Quiet Storm will try to repeat their week 1 victory against the Jelly beans as both teams try to get in striking range of the top teams. The Young Gunz victory over the Good Fellas in Week 1 is all that separates the two in the standings, in week 10, they will give it another go. Norm was 3 of 5, making him 10 of 20 (50%) on the year. He gains top billing. Spock was 2 of 5 making him 12 of 20 (60%) on the year. His locks appear below: BB -2 TB (250) QS -1 JB (239)BR -10 MT (250) YG -7 GF (241) DT -3 BS (261) Two games were over on Sunday, and the rest were more or less over. The Body Shop had a 15 point lead and the BRONOCS in their back pocket on Monday in there one and only meeting with the Black Revenge this year. The Shop was led by Addai and Turner. Andre Johnson led the Revenge in the losing effort. The loss may have hurt the Revenge, but they were fortunate enough to stay tied for first place. The Black & Blue Attack and an 86 point lead were too much for the Young Gunz, Marshall and Miller. Rodgers, Rice, Driver and Clark led the Attack to their 2nd helmet of the year. Moss and Marshall led the Gunz. The Attack jumped back up into first place with the W. The loss ended a 5 game winning streak by Gunz. |
The Tsunami Brothers and a 77 point lead were too much for the Jelly Beans and Reed on Monday night. The Brothers were led by Fitzgerald and Sims-Walker. The Beans were led by Breaston and really would not have found much help on their bench. The win by the Brothers enable to gain form control on a Elite spot. The loss puts the Beans a couple of games out of the Elite. The Quiet Storm and a 63.8 point lead were too much for the M. Takers, Ward and Wallace. Cutler and Williams led the Storm. The "W" ended a 5 game losing streak for the Storm. The Takers were led by Brady, Jones-Drew and Ward. You know I wonder how many people would still rather have the Panthers Steve Smith over Hines Ward. Heck I think most people would rather have the Giants Steve Smith over the Panthers Steve Smith. As for the Storm win, sorry Bubba, but I think the Storm had some help from up stairs this week. The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the Good Fellas and the Dream Team. It may be a stretch to choose this game, but the truth is it was the closest game of the week and there were no games with any real chance of Monday Night Madness. Add in the Commissioner bias and there you have it. The Fellas were led by Warner, Gore and Johnson. The Dream Team was led by Brees, Jackson and Davis. This was the only game on the docket where the losing team could have won with a different lineup. If the Dream Team starts Medenhall and Gage over Colston and Crabtree, they stop their losing streak at 4. They didn't and that losing streak now stands at 5. During that 5 game losing streak, they have never dropped below number 3 in total points scored, and are currently second in total points scored. They of course are leading the league in points allowed. It is time to fire that Defensive Coordinator. The "W" has the Fellas one game out of first. CHATTERBOX:(Get Quotes in by Monday Night)
