![]() Well, I'm back . . . (appropriate for a Halloween return). Sorry about the missing weeks, but the real job wiped out 2 weeks and actually took me the better part of a week to catch up. That waiver wire was on fire for the last 3 weeks. The Elite Teams have put a little space between themselves and everyone else, but it is still not too late for the have-nots. Don't forget to keep an eye on the old web site (http://swffl.50megs.com). It has updated archives and historical records. I will also add some web-exclusive materials there, like the complete 2009 Draft analysis, as I develop them. Anybody with ideas, send them to me and I will see what I can do. Key Matchups to watch this Week The Black & Blue will try to stay on top of the heap by taking on the Good Fellas. The Dream Team and M. Takers will square off n a contest between 2 2-5 teams, the winner can dream of a comeback, the loser . . . well not so much. In a contest of former partners the Black Revenge will try keep pace with the leaders, while the Storm will try to start an amazing comeback. The Jelly Beans and Body Shop will compete to try and close that gap between the top teams and the non-Elite teams. The Young Gunz and the Tsunami Brothers will meet in a contest of Elite teams. In week 4, Spock was 4 of 5 making him 6 of 10 (60%) on the year. He gets top billing. Norm (actually my estimates) was 1 of 5 making him 4 of 10 (40%) on the year. His lines appear below: GF -1 BB (203) JB -1 BS (203)DT -8 MT (214) YG -3 TB (205) QS -2 BR (206) One game was over on Sunday, 2 more were more or less over and 2 more had a little of that Monday Night Madness!! The Body Shop notched its second helmet of the year by beating the Quiet Storm. Unfortunately for the Shop it was only their 3rd win. It is tough if you have to put up a helmet just to get a win. The Shop was led by Romo Benson, Austin and the JETS. Grant and Williams led the Storm in the losing effort. The result of the game left both teams at 2-5. The Tsunami Brothers kept pace with the rest of the Elite Teams by defeating the GoodFellas. The Brothers were ed by Manning, Nicks, Daniels and the SAINTS. The GoodFellas failed to field a 20 point player. The loss left the GoodFellas 2 games out of the Elite. |
The Black & Blue Attack just missed out on the helmet this week against the Jelly Beans. Their high point total did move them to the top of the scoring list with a bullet. The Attack was le by Rodgers, Williams and Driver. Only Welker manage to surpass 29 points for the Jelly Beans. The Beans are also hovering a couple of games below the Elite Line. The M. Takers and a 13.9 point lead could not hold off the Young Gunz, Maclan and the EAGLES. The Takers had a chance but the Witherspoon TD gave the Young Gunz the game. The Gunz were led by Manning and the EAGLES. The Takers wasted great performances by Brady and Ochocinco. With the "W' the Gunz kept up with rest of the haves. The loss left the Takers with the rest of the have-nots. The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the Black Revenge and the Dream Team. An argument for the Gunz-Taker game as GOW could be made, but I felt it was about a tie and tie goes to the Commish. The Revenge and Cooley only had to make up 3.6 points against the Dream Team on Monday. On the Redskins first 2 plays from scrimmage Cooley caught 2 balls and put the Revenge up by one half of a point. My first reaction was, well at least I didn't have to sweat it out. Of course, when Cooley was being carted if the field on the next series I was feeling a lot different. Going into this week my team was the second highest scoring team and now I find myself at 2-5. The scheduling Gods must really hate me. The Revenge was led by Schuab and Wayne. The win keeps the Revenge in a first place tie. The Dream Team was led by Brees and Jackson in the losing effort. A Palmer, Crabtree or Davis start would have kept the Dream Team out of a tie for last place and would have reduced the amount of whining by the Commissioner in this paragraph.
