![]() With 1 week to go there are only 2 Elite Spots locked up, with the other 2 up for grabs by 3 teams. Sorry Beans that point total all but eliminates you. The Black & Blue can lock up the Championship with a win or even a loss as long as the Good Fellas don't outscore them by 60.7 points. The Black Revenge have all but locked up a Elite Spot as their point total will probably keep them in the Elite no matter what. The Tsunami Brothers probably have to win to keep their Elite Spot. The Young Gunz will need a win a Tsunami Brother loss and to maintain their point lead to lock up that last spot. Don't forget to keep an eye on the old web site (http://swffl.50megs.com). It has updated archives and historical records. I will also add some web-exclusive materials there, like the complete 2009 Draft analysis, as I develop them. Anybody with ideas, send them to me and I will see what I can do. Key Matchups to watch this Week The Good Fellas wlll try to rip the trophy out of the Black & Blue Attack's hands by beating them by more than 61 points in our own little version of a Super Bowl, who needs playoffs. The M. Takers will try to complete the season sweep of the Dream Team in a contest that is all about pride, because we have nothing else to play for. The Black Revenge will try to sweep the Quiet Storm and hold on to 3rd place at a minimum. The Jelly beans will try to sweep the Body Shop in another one of those pride games. The Young Gunz and Tsunami Brothers will basically be playing for that final Elite spot. As much as the Scheduling Gods screwed my team this year, they made amends by serving up a incredible Week 17 schedule. Norm was 2 of 5, making him 27 of 55 (49%) on the year. He retains top billing. Spock was 2 of 5, making him 27 of 45 (49%) on the year. His locks appear below (even the Oddsmakers are coming down to the last week): BB -5 GF (259) HB -1 BS (239)MT -5 DT (248) TB -2 YG (242) BR -12 QS (246) Four games were over on Sunday. The other one had some mild Monday Night Madness!! The Black & Blue Attack completed the season sweep of the Jelly Beans and locked up the inside track to the Championship. The Attack was led by AP in the win. The Beans were led by Welker in the loss. A Zach Miller and Sproules start would have given the Beans the "W" and kept their Elite Hopes alive. |
The Black Revenge completed the season sweep of the Dream Team and all but locked up a Elite Spot and scored their 3rd helmet in a row. The Revenge was led by McNabb, White and Steve Smith (the other one). The Dream Team was led by Stewart as they dropped another game in their undying effort to finish at the bottom of the standings with one of the best point totals in the league (currently 4th). The Quiet Storm avenged their early season loss to the Body Shop. The Storm was led by Grant as they climbed out of the basement. The Body Shop failed to field a 20 point starter (or bench player). Despite that an Adai start would have kept the Shop Elite Spot hopes alive. The Good Fellas avenged their early season loss to the Tsunami Brothers. The Fellas were led by Warner, Gore and Johnson as they kept their Championship hopes alive. The Tsunami Brothers were led by Harrison in the loss. Despite the loss the Tsunami Brother still have a tenuous hold on a Elite Spot. The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the M. Takers and the Young Gunz. The Takers, Rice, Berrian, Shacone and a 20.5point lead were too much for the Young Gunz, Harvin and Olsen. The Takers were led by Brady and Moss as they avenged their early season loss to the Young Gunz. Manning and the EAGLES led the Young Gunz. A Favre, Maclan, Cadillac Williams, and 49ER start would have kept the Young Gunz in a Elite Spot and certainly would have improved their chances to have one at the end of the season.
