![]() Week 11 finds 3 teams trying to break away from the pack. With only 7 games left those in the pack better not let those 3 get away. Those below the pack, the margin for error is slim or none. Don't forget to keep an eye on the old web site (http://swffl.50megs.com). It has updated archives and historical records. I will also add some web-exclusive materials there, like the complete 2009 Draft analysis, as I develop them. Anybody with ideas, send them to me and I will see what I can do. Key Matchups to watch this Week The Black & Blue will try to sweep the biannual Black Bowl bye by repeating their week 3 victory over the Black Revenge. The Tsunami Brothers will try to stay at the top of the standings by completing the season sweep of the Dream Team. The Body Shop will try to keep their slim Money hopes alive by avenging their early season loss to the Money Takers. The Good Fellas will try to keep up with the rest of the penthouse group by completing the season sweep of the Jelly Beans. The Young Gunz will try to avenge their early season loss Quiet Storm and maybe climb back into the Money. Spock was 4 of 5, making him 16 of 30 (53%) on the year. He regains top billing. Norm was 2 of 5, making him 15 of 30 (50%) on the year. His lines appear below: BR -1 BB (223) JB -2 GF (226)DT -8 TB (236) QS -4 YG (218) MT -3 BS (219) Two games were over on Sunday, one was more or less over. The other 2 had some serious Monday Night Madness!! In week 2, the Good Fellas set a weekly scoring record against the Body Shop. They completed the sweep this week, although it was in a lot less dramatic fashion. The Fellas were led by Calvin Johnson as they kept pace with the league leading Tsunami Brothers. The Shop was led by Snelling, Jackson and Jennings. The loss leaves the Shop a game out of the Money. A start of Adai, Finley and Crosby would have left the Shop in a tie for third place. The Jelly Beans complete the season sweep of the Young Gunz. The Beans were led by Ryan and Welker. The Gunz were led by Eli in the loss. The results of the game left both teams at 6-5. The Beans are climbing with 2 wins in a row. The Gunz are sliding with 3 losses in a row. A Harvin and Maclan start would have kept the Gunz in the Money. |
The Tsunami Brothers and a 57.9 point lead were too much for the Black Revenge, Schaub and Johnson on Monday night and avenged their early season loss. The Brothers were led by Fitzgerald and Sims-Walker as they grabbed sole possession of first place. The Revenge were led by Schaub in the losing effort. A Gould and Mason or Smith start would have had the teams swapping positions in the standings. Both are still very much in the running. The Dream Team and a 54.5 point lead were too much for the Quiet Storm, Slaton, Walter and Bironas. The Dream Team split the series with the Storm with the win. This battle to stay out of the basement left both teams tied for last at 3-8. The Dream team was led by Brees, Smith and Davis. The Storm was led by Big Ben in the loss. A Gant start over a catch-less Roy would have kept the Storm out of the basement. The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the Black & Blue Attack and the Money Takers. The Attack was led by Rodgers, Ricky Williams and Boldin (Ricky Williams is back?). The Takers were led by Rice, Ward and that VIKINGS TE (whatever his name is). The win kept the Attack within striking distance of the Championship. The loss certainly did not help the Takers Money hopes. The Attack scores the season sweep against the Takers. A Favre start would have given the Takers the "W". I know this is at least the third time (second week in a row) that the highest scoring team ekes out a victory against the second highest scoring team of the week. Having been in that position early on, I can certainly sympathize with the Takers. Then again there is something to be said for the phrase "Misery loves company". That being said I invite you all to join me down here in the basement. CHATTERBOX:(Get Quotes in by Monday Night)
