![]() Week 8 finds every team but 2 within 1 game of first place. What a year this turning out to be, in one week you can jump from 8th place to above the Elite Line. Week 9 is the only week in the schedule that does not repeat. BTW, not one of our games was suspended because of rain. Oh, well if all goes well, you may well be attending a parade 25 years in the making prior to our next lineup deadline, GO PHILLIES!! Don't forget to keep an eye on the old web site (http://swffl.50megs.com). It has updated archives and historical records. I will also add some web-exclusive materials there, like the complete 2008 Draft analysis, as I develop them. Anybody with ideas, send them to me and I will see what I can do. Key Matchups to watch this Week The Black & Blue Attack will meet the Young Gunz for the only time this year in a battle of high-scoring .500 teams. The Dream Team meets the Black Revenge in a battle of teams at opposite ends of the standings. The Quiet Storm takes on the red hot Tsunami Brothers in their only 2008 meeting. The M. Takers and Body Shop meet in a contest of old Freddy Flinstone League members. In a family affair the Jelly Beans take on the Good Fellas. Norm lines (my estimates) were 3 of 5 last week making him 21 of 30 (70%) on the year and his lines (my estimates) appear above. Spock's locks were 3 of 5 making him 10 of 30 (33%) on the year, his locks appear below: BB -8 YG (250) MT -6 BS (212)DT -12 BR (222) GF -4 JB (236) QS -2 TB (224) No games were over on Sunday. Three were more or less over. The other two were in for a little Monday Night Madness!! The Black & Blue Attack and a 77.1 pt lead were too much for the Jelly Beans, Manning and Wayne. Brees, Walter and Moore led the Attack to their 2nd helmet of the year and halted their 3 game losing streak. The Beans were led by Manning, Boldin & Gates to their loss. The loss was the Beans fourth in five weeks. Beans, what's up with the PACKER start. The Tsunami Brothers and a 58.4 pt lead were too much for the M. Takers, Clark and Bironas. The Bothers were led to their 5th win in a row by Gerrard and White. The win has capped a rise by the Brothers from last place to second place. The loss brought the Takers back to the pack and cost them first place. The Takers were led by Ryan and Clark. |
The Dream Team and a 32.8 pt. lead were too much for the defending Champion Body Shop, Rhodes and the COLTS. The Dream Team was led by Delhomme in this low scoring game. The Shop left some points on the bench, but even their best lineup would have come up short. The Shop has now lost 2 in arrow after snapping a four game winning streak. The win put the Dream Team on the top of the standings (at least for this week). That top spot seems to be a hard place to hang on to this year. The Quiet Storm and Chris Johnson easily overcame a 0.3 pt. lead by the Good Fellas on Monday night. The Storm was led by Westbrook and Andre Johnson. The "W" allowed the Storm to climb up into the .500 mix at 4-4. The Fellas were led by Favre and Steve Smith. The loss pushed the Fellas out of the Elite and into the 4-4 log jam. The Fellas have now lost 3 in a row and 4 out of the last 5 after a fairly decent start. The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the Black Revenge and the Young Gunz. The Young Gunz and the TITANS just barely overcame a 2.6 pt. lead on Monday night. The Young Gunz were led by Schaub and Moss. The "W" halted a 4 game losing streak by the Young Gunz. The Gunz halted their skid at the .500 level. The Black Revenge were led by LT in the loss. The loss was the Revenge's third in 4 games and is giving them a pretty good hold on that basement slot. Usually when a game is only decided by 1.4 points you can easily find a guy on the loser's bench that would have make a difference, but in this case the Revenge put in their best lineup.
