![]() It was a bad week in the Commissioner's office. I pretty much lost in every fantasy league and had to cap off the week watching the EAGLES fall short in their final game at Texas Stadium. Moral victories are won by teams that are home for Christmas. In the league all, 3 teams are 2-0, 3 are 0-2 and everybody else is 1-1. Don't forget to keep an eye on the old web site (http://swffl.50megs.com). It has updated archives and historical records. I will also add some web-exclusive materials there, like the complete 2008 Draft analysis, as I develop them. Anybody with ideas, send them to me and I will see what I can do. Key Matchups to watch this Week In a battle of ex-partners, the Black & Blue Attack will try to remain undefeated against a M. Taker team that bounced back from losing Brady in Week 1. The Good Fellas will try to stay undefeated and keep the Black Revenge winless. The Quiet Storm will meet the Body Shop in a contest that between the trophy holders for the last 3 years. In a family affair, the 1-1 Jelly Beans will meet the 1-1 Dream Team. The Tsunami Brothers will try to notch their first "W" and knock the Young Gunz out of that top spot in the standings. Spock's locks appear above. Norm's picks, actually my estimates, appear below: MT -4 BB (196) DT -8 JB (228)BR -2 GF (198) TB -5 YG (205) BS -1 QS (201) Two of the games were more or less over on Sunday, but the rest had a little Monday Night Madness!! The M. Takers bounced back from their loss in week 1 (both the game and Brady) as they defeated the Black Revenge. Kitna, Julius Jones and Burress led the Takers to their first "W". See Bubba, you can win a game without your first round pick. The question is how many of them can you win. The Black Revenge failed to start a player who cleared the 20 point barrier. The Jelly Beans won their first game by handing the defending champion Body Shop their second loss. The Beans left no doubt by taking the helmet after putting up enough points in week 1 to beat a lot of other teams and getting a loss. The Beans were led by an MVP performance by Boldin, and good games by Chambers, Wayne and the PACKERS. The Shop had 3 players on Monday that did well, but the Beans had just put up too many points on Sunday. The Shop was led by Aaron Rogers in a losing effort. At 0-2, things are not looking very great for the repeat attempt by the Champs, bit you never know. In 20 years, stranger things have happened, so keep plugging Casey. |
The Good Fellas and the COWBOYS easily overcame a 0.3 point lead against the Tsunami Brothers on Monday night to remain undefeated. The Good Fellas had a balanced attack as only Greg Jennings cleared the 20 point barrier. The Tsunami Brothers had very big games out Of Graham and Portis. The Tsunami Brothers are at 0-2 and need to turn it around. The Fellas are quite happy with their current direction. The Black & Blue Attack, the EAGLES and a 25.6 point lead were too much for the Quiet Storm and Westbrook. Westbrook put up a monster 26 point game to go with Anthony Gonzales big game for the Quiet Storm in the losing effort. The Black & Blue Attack were led by Marshall who put up 40.8 points despite only scoring one TD. A "Kurt Warner" start by the Storm would have put the Storm over the top, of course that would have take Mike Shanahan sized balls after the week 1 performances by Brees and Warner. The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the Dream Team and Young Gunz. The Gunz, and Barber and 53.8 points were too much for the Dream Team, Romo and Owens. Now you may say. how can I give "GOW" honors to a game where the two teams were separated by more than 50 points going into Monday night. In my defense, by half-time on Monday night the Gunz lead was down to a point or 2. Unfortunately for me the Cowboys went a lot more to Barber and T.O. disappeared in the second half (as he has been know to do). In the end, the Gunz margin of victory was lea than 11 points and both teams finished 2nd and 3rd in scoring for the week. The Gunz were led by Cutler, Barber, Holt and Fitzgerald. The Dream Team, in a losing effort, was led by Calvin Johnson and the COWPOKE double-bubble. CHATTERBOX:(Get Quotes in by Monday Night)
