![]() Week 16 finds all the Elite Spots decided and the Championship is down to 2 teams (barring any 75 point swings in total points). The Shop can still squeak in to the Elite if they beat the Dream Team by 87.9 points. The Championship is the Black & Blue Attacks' if they win or if the M. Takers loose. The Takers only real shot at the title is winning and a Black & Blue loss. Barring any huge point swing, the worst the Black & Blue can do is second place. The Takers can finish anywhere between first and third. The Storm can finish from 2nd to 4th. The Dreamt Team (with a 22.3 pt. swing) can finish in 3rd or 4th. By the way, I hope you all enjoyed your holiday this week. Don't forget to keep an eye on the old web site (http://swffl.50megs.com). It has updated archives and historical records. I will also add some web-exclusive materials there, like the complete 2008 Draft analysis, as I develop them. Anybody with ideas, send them to me and I will see what I can do. Key Matchups to watch this Week The Black & Blue Attack will try to sweep the Jelly Beans and wrap up that title. The Quiet Storm would like to bounce back from a bad week, sweep the Good Fellas and keep 2nd place on the table. The M. Takers will try to avenge their week 8 loss to the Tsunami Brothers and (with a little help from the Beans) win the title. The Dream Team would like to sweep the Body Shop and keep that shot at 3rd place alive. The Young Gunz will try to sweep the Revenge as both teams shoot for that week 17 helmet. Norm's Lines (my estimates) were 3 of 5 last week making him 41 of 70 (59%) on the year. He regains top billing. Spock's locks were 2 of 5 last week making him 34 of 70 (49%) on the year and his lines appear below: BB -14 JB (38) DT -1 BS (227)QS -7 GF (228) YG -6 BR (238) MT -5 TB (220) Three games were over on Sunday. The other two were in for some Monday Night Madness!! The Black & Blue avenged their early season loss to the Dream Team and then some as they scored their 5th helmet of the year and their 2nd in a row. The Attack was led by Brees, Williams, Marshall and Colston to the victory that kept them on the inside track for the title. Romo and Jacobs led the Dream Tema in the loss. Despite the loss, the point total and the Good Fellas loss all but assured the Dream Team of a Elite spot. |
The Body Shop avenged their early season loss to the Tsunami Brothers. The Shop was led by Rodgers and Bryant. Despite the win, the Shop still has a shot at the Elite but the EAGLES have a better chance of making the playoffs. Hey a slim shot is better than no shot. The Brothers were led by Moss as they lost their third in a row and joined the ranks of the eliminated. The Young Gunz split the season aeries with the Quiet Storm and pretty much ended the Storm's title hopes. He Gunz were led by Cassel, Fitzgerald and the TITANS. None of the Storm starters topped the 20 point mark. Usually when a team loses by more than 60 points, the coaches are off the hook as there ia auslly nothing they could have done differently. I think this wwek the storm may have set a record as their best lineup out scored their starting lineup by over 100 points. The Jelly Beans, Driver, Crosby, the PACKERS and a 4.9 point lead were too much for the Black Revenge, Grant and the BEARS. The Beans were led by Manning, Wayne and Gates as they split with the Revenge. Hill and Holmes led the Revenge in the losing effort. The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the M. Takers and the Good Fellas. The Takers completed the season sweep and kept their title hopes alive as Forte and a 22 point lead held off the Fellas, Jennings and Hester. Even though the final was not that close, it did get close during the game. A late Forte TD put the BEARS back in the playoffs and kept the Takers title hopes alive. The Takers were led by Clark. The Fellas were led by Rivers in the losing effort. CHATTERBOX:(Get Quotes in by Monday Night)
