![]() Week 13 was a very depressing week for the Commish. Not only did Berrian beat me on Sunday in this league. Slaton's garbage time TD's beat me in another league on Monday. Oh well, I guess you got to take the "BAD" with the "GOOD". OK Fantasy Football Gods, bring on some more of that "GOOD"!! Don't forget to keep an eye on the old web site (http://swffl.50megs.com). It has updated archives and historical records. I will also add some web-exclusive materials there, like the complete 2008 Draft analysis, as I develop them. Anybody with ideas, send them to me and I will see what I can do. Key Matchups to watch this Week The Black & Blue Attack will try to avenge their early season loss to the Body Shop and hold on to that top spot. The Tsunami Brothers will try to complete the season sweep of the Black Revenge and keep their Elite hopes alive. The Quiet Storm will try to complete the season sweep of the Dream team in a battle of 8-5 teams. The M. Takers will try to complete the season sweep of the Jelly Beans and keep pace with the other top teams. In a battle of the younger generation, the Good Fellas will try to complete the season sweep of the Young Gunz and keep their Elite hopes alive. Spock's locks were 2 of 5 last week making him 25 of 55 (45%) on the year. He retains top billing. Norm's Lines (my estimates) were 2 of 5 last week making him 36 of 55 (65%) on the year and his lines appear below: BS -2 BB (242) JB -1 MT (235)BR -3 TB (219) YG -1 GF (221) DT -6 QS (250) Three games were over on Sunday. The other two were in for some Monday Night Madness!! The Black & Blue Attack completed the season sweep of the Good Fellas and took over the top spot in the standings. The Black & Blue were led by Brees and Williams. The Fellas were led by Jennings. A Gerrard or Hester start could have kept the Black & Blue out of first. The Quiet Storm avenged their early season loss to the Black Revenge and put the final nail in the Revenge's coffin. The Revenge probably did not have a lot to look forward to, but my guess is that a season sweep of an ex-partner would have been a moral victory. The Storm was led by McNabb, Johnson & Johnson. The Revenge did not have any body on their roster pass the 20 point mark. |
The Tsunami Brothers completed the season sweep of the Jelly Beans in a rather low scoring affair. In fact neither team had a starter top the 20 point mark and both QBs failed to throw a TD (which is amazing when you are talking about Brett and Peyton). A driver over Chambers start would have given the Beans a 7-8 record instead of the Brothers. In runner up "GOW", the Body Shop and a 47.3 point barely held off the Young Gunz and Slaton. The Shop was led by Rodgers, Jones and Jackson as they scored their first helmet and completed the season sweep of the Young Gunz. The Gunz were held by Cutler, Fitzgerald and Slaton in the loss. A Stokley or Clayton start would have landed the Young Gunz their first helmet in a while. The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the M. Takers and the Dream Team. Normally, I give the honor to a game decided on Monday, but this game had serious standings ramifications and had some Sunday night Madness. The Dream Team carried a 38.7 point lead into Sunday night against the Takers, Berrian and Forte. All looked well for the Dream Team until the end of the first half. Berrian ripped off a 99 yarder right before the half and then Forte knocked the Dream Team out of first early in the second half. The Takers avenged their early season loss and joined the 8-5 log jam for first. Berrian and Bironas led the Takers. The COWBOY double bubble led the Dream Team. A Jacobs start would have kept the Dream Team in first by themselves. With a 4 way tie for first, the last 4 weeks figure to be very interesting. CHATTERBOX:(Get Quotes in by Monday Night)
