![]() Week 12 was what fantasy football is all about. Elite teams battling it out for the victory and most of it coming down to the last game of the week. There was certainly a lot of Monday Night Madness!! There is even enough to spread to non-Elite Teams. Don't forget to keep an eye on the old web site (http://swffl.50megs.com). It has updated archives and historical records. I will also add some web-exclusive materials there, like the complete 2008 Draft analysis, as I develop them. Anybody with ideas, send them to me and I will see what I can do. Key Matchups to watch this Week The Black & Blue Attack will try to complete the season sweep against the Good Fellas and keep those Championship hopes alive. In a battle of former partners, the Quiet Storm will try to avenge their early season loss to the Black Revenge. In a battle of Elite Teams, the Dream Team will try to complete the season sweep of the M. Takers. The Jelly Beans will try to avenge their early season loss to the Tsunami Brothers and keep their Championship hopes alive. The Tsunami Brothers will try to complete the season sweep against the defending champion Body Shop. Spock's locks were 5 of 5 last week making him 23 of 50 (46%) on the year. He regains top billing. Norm's Lines (my estimates) were 3 of 5 last week making him 34 of 50 (68%) on the year and his lines appear below: GF -1 BB (215) TB -1 JB (221)BR -2 QS (230) BS -2 YG (224) DT -8 MT (238) One game was over on Sunday. The other four were in for varying degrees of Monday Night Madness!! The Tsunami Brothers avenged their early season loss to the Young Gunz. The Brothers were led by Moss and the BUCCANEERS in the victory. The victory snapped a 3 game losing streak for the Brothers. The Young Gunz have lost the last 3 of 4 and are in danger of falling out of contention after starting 3-0. The Good Fellas, Jennings, Shockey and a 5.2 lead easily held off the Black Revenge and Grant on Monday night. Rivers, Steve Smith and Jennings led the Fellas to their first helmet of the year and the season sweep of the Revenge. Tony Gonzales led the Revenge in the loss. The Fellas find themselves just below the Elite line. The Revenge's tragic number is 1. |
The Dream Team and a 55.5 point lead were too much for the Jelly Beans, Driver, Crosby and the PACKERS. The COWBOY double bubble led the Dream Team to their 6th win in the last 7 games. The Dream Team was happy to see that Romo and Owens have not lost their magic touch. The Beans were led by Manning and Boldin in the loss. The loss drops the Beans below the Elite Line. The Dream Team is still holding on to that top spot. In runner up "GOW", the Quiet Storm and a 43.4 point lead just barely held off the Body Shop and Rodgers on Monday Night. In fact one garbage time touchdown by Rodgers would have both the Shop and the Storm joining the already crowded ranks at 6-6. A Coles start would have done the same. The Storm was led by Thigpen and Johnson (and the shrewd and timely EAGLES benchings) to third place. The Shop was led by Folk and Rodgers. As it is the Storm avenged their early season close loss to the Shop. The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the M. Takers and the Black & Blue Attack. The Takers and a 47.9 point lead were not enough to hold of the Black & Blue Attack, Brees and Colston. For most of the game it looked like Brees was making a valiant effort to bring the Black & Blue back, but he was doing it solo and it appeared he might be coming up short. Then he unleashed his second 70 yard bomb and this one was to Colston. The only thing the Takers could hope for that Colston's reenactment of Deshaun Jackson's premature celebration would wipe 24 points off the board. Alas, there was not even a review and the Attack moved up to 2nd place and avenged their early season loss while the Takers almost fell below the Elite Line. The Attack as led by the SAINT double bubble which included an MVP performance by Brees. Forte, Welker and the RAVENS led the Takers in the losing effort. CHATTERBOX:(Get Quotes in by Monday Night)
