![]() Week 11 may have seen the beginning of that big crunch I promised last week. We also had some major trading. For those of you who do not remember, a couple of years ago we set the trading deadline to Week 14. Also, we voted to have open trading/no voting. So, there was really not much I could do about the Barber-Cotchery trade. I am fairly sure there was no collusion, which is the only time I might step outside of the rules and take action. Don't forget to keep an eye on the old web site (http://swffl.50megs.com). It has updated archives and historical records. I will also add some web-exclusive materials there, like the complete 2008 Draft analysis, as I develop them. Anybody with ideas, send them to me and I will see what I can do. Key Matchups to watch this Week The Black & Blue Attack will try to avenge their early season loss to the Money Takers in a battle of former partners. The Black Revenge will try to get a little winning streak going and avenge their early season loss to the Good Fellas. The Body Shop will try to complete the season sweep of the Quiet Storm and keep their repeat hopes alive. In a family affair the Jelly Beans will try to complete the season sweep against the first place Dream Team. In the "Traders Bowl" the Tsunami Brothers and their revamped roster will attempt to avenge their week 3 loss to the Young Gunz. Norm's Lines (my estimates) were 4 of 5 last week making him 31 of 45 (69%) on the year. He regains top billing. Spock's locks were 1 of 5 last week making him 18 of 45 (40%) on the year and his locks appear below: BB -8 MT (228) DT -1 JB (225)GF -7 BR (221) TB -1 YG (241) QS -8 BS (216) Two games were over on Sunday. Two were more or less over. The other one was in for a little Monday Night Madness!! The Jelly Beans completed the season sweep of the defending champion Body Shop. The "W" was the Beans third in a row and it moved them above the Money Line. The Beans were led by Manning, Boldin and Crosby. The Shop has lost three of the last four. Only Adai managed to clear 20 points fro the Body Shop. The Young Gunz completed the season sweep of the Dream Team. Turner, Barber, Slaton and Fitzgerald led the youngsters to their third helmet of the year. Only Ward managed to clear 20 points for the Dream Team. Despite the loss the Dream Team still holds on to first place, but that hold is more tenuous than ever. |
The Quiet Storm and an 18.7 point lead were too much for the Black & Blue Attack and Lindell. The Storm was led by TJ and Bowe as they avenged their early loss. The Storm has won 4 of the last 5 and they are getting ever closer to that Money Line. The Black & Blue was led by Williams in the losing effort. A Moore or Mason start would have put the Black & Blue in first place. The Good Fellas and a 52.4 point lead were too much for the Tsunami Brothers and Edwards on Monday night. The Fellas completed the season sweep with a good game by Gore. The Tsunami Brothers failed to have a player on the roster clear 20 points. Perhaps that is why the Tsunami took a hammer and saw top their roster. Barber for Cotchery, not bad Bone. The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the Money Takers and the Black Revenge. The Revenge, Lynch and Evans easily overcame a 4.9 point lead. Actually considering that we are talking about a number one wide-out and a decent RB, it took a bit longer than it should have. Eventually Lynch found the endzone and completed the trifecta as the top 3 teams in the standings lost. The Revenge was led by Lynch to their third "W" of the year. The Takers only 20 point player was Rackers on the bench. A Rackers and Smith start would have given the Takers sole possession of first place. The Revenge avenged their early season loss and for now there is still a glimmer of hope. CHATTERBOX:(Get Quotes in by Monday Night)
