![]() Week 10 finds things spreading a bit in the standings. Only 7 teams are now within 2 games of first and the other 3 are the only team within 2 games of last. The way this year is going I can feel a big crunch in the standings coming. I just hope a certain team doesn't get crunched in the Crunch. Don't forget to keep an eye on the old web site (http://swffl.50megs.com). It has updated archives and historical records. I will also add some web-exclusive materials there, like the complete 2008 Draft analysis, as I develop them. Anybody with ideas, send them to me and I will see what I can do. Key Matchups to watch this Week The Black & Blue Attack will try to complete the season sweep of the Quiet Storm. The Black Revenge will try to avenge their week 2 loss to the M. Takers in a contest of teams at opposite ends of the standings. The Good Fellas will try to repeat their week 2 win against the Tsunami Brothers. The Jelly Beans would like to repeat their 70+ point beating of the defending champion Body Shop. The Young Gunz will try to knock the Dream Team out of the top spot by repeating their week 2 victory. Spock's Locks were 3 of 5 last week making him 17 of 40 (43%) on the year. He gains top billing. Norm lines (my estimates) were 2 of 5 last week making him 27 of 40 (68%) on the year and his lines (my estimates) appear below: QS -2 BB (224) JB -1 BS (225)BR -1 MT (219) DT -8 YG (234) GF -3 TB (231) Two games were over on Sunday. One was more or less over. The other two were in for a little Monday Night Madness!! The Black & Blue Attack completed the season sweep of the Black Revenge. The Attack was led by Warner, Williams, Petersen and Marshall, with plenty of bench points in reserve. The "W" gave the Black & Blue a tight grip on 3rd place with the best position to unseat the guys at the top. The Revenge were led by Quinn and Gonzales. The loss was the Revenge's 5th in the last 6 weeks. We are expecting something huge changes in Death Valley. The M. Takers avenged their early season loss to the Quiet Storm. The Takers were led by Ryan and Welker to their 5th win in 6 weeks. The win kept the Takers in 2nd place and more importantly entrenched them deeper into the Elite. The Storm was led by McNabb in the loss. A JETS and Gonzales start would have kept the Storm in the Elite and would have kept their 4 game winning streak alive. Alas, the streak died and the Storm was booted below the Elite Line. |
The Body Shop and a 48.1 point lead were too much for the Good Fellas and Gore on Monday night. The Shop was led by Jones and Royal. The win ended a 3 game losing streak by the Body Shop. The Fellas were led by Rivers and Jones-Drew in the loss. The Fellas had some points on the bench, but their best lineup would have come up short also. The Fellas have lost 5 in a row. The Dream Team and a 38.7 point lead were too much for the Tsunami Brothers, Breaston and the CARDINALS. Breaston and the CARDINALS came very close to pulling off a huge comeback, but penalties seemed to keep getting in the way. In the end the Dream Team held on by 13.1 and won their 5th game in a row. Jacobs, Ward and Scaife led the Dream Team to the season sweep of the Brothers and allowed the Dream Team to remain in first. The Tsunami Brothers were led by recent addition Rosenfelds in their 2nd loss in a row. The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the Jelly Beans and the Young Gunz. The Beans and Bolcdin held off the Young Gunz and Fitzgerald as the CARDINAL wide-outs traded TDs. The Beans avenged their early season loss mainly due to the nice weeks by Manning, Wayne, Boldin Gates and the PACKERS. The Beans also snagged their 2nd "W" in a row and their 2nd helmet of the year. The Beans also have a tenuous hold on the last Elite spot. The Gunz were led by Cutler, Moore and Winslow. In fact, Cutler and Winslow put up a truck load of points on Thursday and made a Bean win look remote. The Gunz, however dropped their 5th game in the last 7 and find themselves closer to last place than first place. CHATTERBOX:(Get Quotes in by Monday Night)
