![]() Wow, the transaction wire was on fire in between Weeks 6 and Week 7. We had 2 trades, which probably doubles the number of trades we've had in the past couple of years. Also, 1 thing came up that probably bears repeating. After the first game of the week, you will not be able to pick up anyone on your own (until Wednesday morning). If you want to pick up someone during this period post a message (to everyone) in the bulletin board stating who you want to pickup and who you want to release (if you need to release someone). Norm or I can do transactions up until Sunday at 1:00 and after Tuesday morning. We (or more likely I) will process any bulletin board transactions as soon as I can. All you can do is put in a waiver claim during this period. If the person has not been on a roster recently, we do not consider them on waivers. If you place a waiver claim on that breakout RB and someone else claims him in the bulletin board. The guy posting it in the bulletin board will get him. If this is not clear to everyone, please feel free to call me and we can discuss it. The printed notes have some information than isn't on any of the web versions. If you do not have word, I can send PDF versions of the Notes or you can download wordviewer from Microsoft.com. The league's url is http://swffl.50megs.com . Key Matchups to watch this Week The Secane Tsunami and Black Revenge meet for the first time this year, to this point the Tsunami has been doing considerably better than the Revenge. The Quiet Storm take on the Jail Birds, the Storm dropped out of the Elite this week, the Birds have been steadily falling down the standings for weeks and have almost made the trek from first to worst. In a family affair the Dream Team take on the Good Fellas. The Fellas will be looking to put both teams on the .500 line. The Body Shop will try to climb out of the basement at the expense of the Jelly Beans. In a battle of Elite Teams, the Black & Blue Attack will try to hold off the M. Takers. Spock was 5/5 making 14/25 (56%) on the year and he retains top billing. Norm (my estimates) was 2/5 making him 14/25 (56%) on the year and he lines (again my estimates) appear below: BR -1 ST (195) BS -4 JB (191)JA -2 QS (198) MT -2 BB (196) DT -9 GF (211) Two games were decided on Sunday, one was more or less over. The final two games had some Monday night implications. The Secane Tsunami defeated the Jelly Beans in the Cedar Ave Bowl. The Tsunami had a 4 pt. lead going into Monday. T.O. increased that lead quite a bit. L.J. also helped the Tsunami on to a victory. The Beans failed to have anyone score over 20. They did have a monster performance by Crumpler on the bench, that would have made a difference in the outcome of the game. |
The Black & Blue Attack kept a firm hold on first place by winning their second helmet against the Black Revenge in the semi-annual Black Bowl. The Attack has won 6 in a row; the Revenge has lost 5 in a row. McNabb, Gates and Wayne led the Attack. The Revenge only had Kitna on the bench over 20. The Dream Team, Julius Jones, the GIANTS and a 70 point lead were too much for the Body Shop, Bledsoe, Burress and Witten. Andre Johnson and the GIANTS led the Dream Team. Only Burress managed to clear 20 points for the Shop. It did not help the Shop that Bledsoe spent the 2nd half with a clipboard. The Good Fellas, Manning, Glenn and Feely overcame a 24 point lead against the Jail Birds and Toomer. The Fellas were led by Moss, Steve Smith and Manning. Brady and Harrison led the Jail Birds. In the end the Jail Birds lost by 10 and had plenty of points sitting on the bench. There were several lineup moves that could have halted the Jail Bird losing streak. But now it is at 5 and growing. The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the Quiet Storm and the M. Takers. Both teams went into the game 4-2, above the Elite Line and one game out of first place. One team was very likely to fall below that Elite Line. The M. Takers and Tiki Barber overcame an 11 point lead, the Storm and Vanderjagt. Barbers had a decent night, and he with Manning and Jackson led the Takers to victory. Palmer, Tomlinson and Westbrook put for the great effort to keep the Storm in the Elite, but they came up a few points short. There were several bench players that could have kept the Storm above the Elite Line, but the most glaring performance on the bench had to be the 49 point performance on the bench by Hines Ward. Which is worse getting a mediocre performance out of a highly drafted player or benching said highly drafted player when they decide to go off? I usually opt for the first to avoid the second.
