![]() After Week 4 only no undefeated teams remain and only 1 team is still searching for their first win (hang in there Casey). There are more BYE weeks this week so check those lineups. By the way, how is SportsLine working out for everyone? If you need me to mail the Notes, give me a call, I think we can avoid the postage, one way or another, if not I will mail you a copy of the notes. It is cheaper and also much quicker to go electronic. The league's url is http://swffl.50megs.com . Key Matchups to watch this Week The Body Shop will try to find their first win against the Secane Tsunami who find themselves off to a very good start. The two top teams in the league meet as the Dream Team and Black & Blue Attack. Far too early to claim this is a huge game, but it is still huge to the participants. The Quiet Storm wants to get back on the winning track against the Jelly Beans who at 1-3 find themselves in an almost must-win situation. The Good Fellas, fresh off their first helmet (first win too) will try to keep going in that direction against a Black Revenge team that seems to be going the other way with 2 losses in a row. The M. Takers and Jail Birds meet up in a contest between 500 teams. The Birds have cooled down considerably after a red hot start. Norm was (my estimates) was 4/5 making him 7/10 (60%) on the year and he retains top billing. Spock was 2/5 making him 4/10 (40%) on the season and locks appear below: ST -23 BS(207) GF -6 BR(208)BB -2 DT(208) JA -1 MT(197) QS -17 JB(203) One game was decided on Sunday, 2 more were more or less over. The final 2 games had some Monday night implications. The Dream Team held off the Black Revenge's Sunday night surge. Both teams put up large amounts of points. The Dream Team's wide-outs led them to victory as they continue to struggle at the QB position. The Dream Team left a lot of points on the bench too. The Revenge was led by Grossman and Roy Williams. The Revenge had some extra points on the bench too, but not enough to make a difference in the game. |
The Body Shop and Buckhalter needed 27 points to overcome the lead built by the M. Takers. While this seemed like too tall a task to ask from "Buck", things seemed to brighten up a bit in the Shop HQ when Westbrook was put on the inactive list. Things could have went well but a couple of fumbles and number 5 taking matters into his own hands, left Buck well short of the mark. The Takers climbed to 500, largely because of a huge game by Santana Moss. The Shop waste a nice appointment by recent acquisition Colston and drop to 0-4. The Good Fellas notched their first "W" against the Jelly Beans as L.J. Smith and the EAGLES could not overcome a 62 point lead by the Fellas. The Fellas were led by Jordan, Smith, Glenn and Wilkins. The Jelly Beans roster failed to have a single player score more than 20 points. The Quiet Storm looked to remain undefeated by beating the Black & Blue Attack. To do this they needed Westbrook and Jennings to overcome a 1 pt. lead held by the Attack and McNabb. Westbrook did not play, but McNabb played poorly enough in the first half that the Storm had to have hope. Then they played the 2nd half and it became a laugher. McNabb put up an MVP number for the Attack. The Storm also failed to have any player on the roster clear the 20 point barrier. No bench help would have kept the Storm undefeated. The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the Jail Birds and the Secane Tsunami. The Secan Tsunami, Reggie Brown and and a 12 point lead proved to much for the Jail Birds, Driver, Stallworth and Akers to overcome. Bulger and Larry Johnson led the Tsunami to a 3-1 record and a 4 way tie for first place. The Jail Birds were led by Maroney in the losing effort. Keyshawn Johnosn and Berrian starts over Driver and Stallworth would have put the Jail Birds in that 4 way tie for first instead of the Tsunami. The Jail Birds lost their second in a row after two straight helmet performances to begin their rookie year. See Judge, it is not that easy!! CHATTERBOX:(Get Quotes in by Monday Night)
