![]() Week 10 is the last of the dreaded BYE weeks. From here on out everybody is at full strength. We also are repeating Week 2's schedule in Week 11, so here is your chance to get a little revenge for that early season loss. Here is a Casey's Survivor Pool update. Only 9 remain. Of the remaining survivors 3 are SWFFL'ers (Bone, Norm and yours truly). Judge was eliminated a couple of weeks ago and I did not fix the update. Thanks to Bone for catching the mistake. At least one person reads these notes. The printed notes have some information than isn't on any of the web versions. If you do not have word, I can send PDF versions of the Notes or you can download wordviewer from Microsoft.com. The league's url is http://swffl.50megs.com . Key Matchups to watch this Week The Secane Tsunami and the Quiet Storm will meet in a battle of Elite teams. In week 2, the Storm won in a squeaker. The Black & Blue and the Good Fellas were separated by a single point in week 2. Now they are on opposite sides of the standings. The Jail Birds scored their 2nd helmet in 2 weeks against the Dream Team. Things have gone considerably different since then. The Black Revenge and the Body Shop meet in a repeat of another close contest from Week 2 which the Revenge won. The Shop is on a winning streak. The Revenge's win in Week 10 was their first since beating the Sop in Week 2. The Elite Takers will try to repeat their Week 2 victory over the Jelly Beans. If that contest had gone the other way, then both of these teams would be at .500. Norm (my estimates) was 3/5 making 23/40 (58%) on the year and he retains top billing. Spock was 3/5 making him 22/40 (55%) on the year and he lines appear below: QS -10 ST (210) BS -2 BR (206)BB -18 GF (204) JB -1 MT (203) DT -13 JA (213) One game was decided on Sunday, 3 were more or less over and one was still up in the air. The Body Shop avenged their season opening loss to the Jail Birds and have now won 3 in a row. The Jail Birds took a huge lead out of the 1:00 games due to large plays and days by Stallworth amd Driver, but the Shop made a huge comeback in the 4:00 tilts. The Shop wrapped it up on Sunday Night with that brilliant 3rd round pick (BEARS). The Shop finally got a 1st round performance out of their first round pick (Parker). IN fact one could make an argument that the Shop's best pick was the free agent acquisitions of Colston and Romo who both played a large role in the win. Also the Shop is 3-0 since the Survivor girl wound up in their logo. |
The Quiet Storm, led by huge performances from Palmer and Tomlinson, completed the season sweep of the Good Fellas. The Storm actually set a new one week scoring record (I think). Technically the Fellas were still alive but even the great Steve Smith could not erase a 113 point lead by the Storm, although he tried. The Dream Team completed the season sweep of the Jelly Beans. The Dream Team was led by an MVP performance by Ocho Cinco. If you had a microphone in the Dream Team headquarters, you would have heard a certain owner wondering out loud if it might be time show Mr. Johnson the bench. Nothing is more inspiring than a threat of benching. Delhomme and Jackson led the Jelly Beans in the loss. A McNair and Jacobs start over Delhomme and Portis would have given the Beans a season split. The Black Revenge, PANTHERS and a 43 point lead were too much for the M. Takers and Foster. The Revenge completed the season sweep and this time they did not need to resort to a tiebreaker. The Revenge was led by a huge game by Frank Gore. The Takers left a ton of points on the bench. In fact, it the Takers had started their best lineup, they would have lost yet another tiebreaker to the Jelly Beans. The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the Black & Blue Attack and the Secane Tsunami. The Black & Blue and a 9 point lead were too much for the Secane Tsunami and John Kasay. Kasay came up a field goal short and the Black & Blue maintained their grip on first place. The Tsunami fell a bit but still managed to hold on to that final Elite spot. As in most games decided by 3 points or less, there were starting lineup changes that the Tsunami could have made that would have put them in a tie for first place. In a weird twist the Attack was led by McNabb and the Tsunami was led by T.O. CHATTERBOX:(Get Quotes in by Monday Night)
